will be back on our next visit!

Very friendly & welcoming hosts, Paulanne & Dave. Comfy & clean Cotswold rm with a shower.

Seriously, don't fill up on the cereal, fresh fruit & baking as there is generous portion of the hot plate item. Leftover bake items good for afternoon snacks you can take along with you. Much appreciated for all the efforts for making gluten free breakfasts!

Just a quick walk to the nearby beach & walking trail, Beacon diner offers milkshakes to icecr. til 11pm on thurs/fri & 15min.stroll to downtown. A hidden gem in this quiet neighbourhood. Strongly recommend the Ashcroft House B&B!

Took Paulanne's suggestion to check out the 360 degrees view at Mt. Douglas. Loved the scenic drive along Beach Drive & got a chance to check out English Oak Bay shops, the Swan Lake Bird Nature centre & Willow Beach.

Ashcroft House is a comfortable, spotlessly clean B&B in a great location, close to downtown Victoria with all its attractions (about a 10 minute walk ) yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood ( parking on the street ). We stayed three nights in the very cozy Cotswold room and enjoyed it immensely. Paulanne and Dave are warm, friendly hosts who will answer any question about the area and cook up a breakfast that stays with you all day - seriously. Cereal, freshly baked goods ( those vanilla scones! ) which, if not finished, they'll bag up to take along and have later, fresh fruit, and a hot cooked plate. We never got around to having the famous afternoon tea at the Empress because we never got hungry during the day!

Not only is it well situated (one corner to the sea and 7 minutes walk to downtown) but Paulanne's breakfast is a tremendous experience! Don't eat too much for the first 4 courses, because the fifth one is worth it!

Paulanne and David will go out of their way to cater to your needs and are lovely hosts. Lovey historical building, restored to perfection, very comfortable rooms, lovely views of the sea!

Having been in B & Bs all around Canada, the States, France, England and Scotland, we can compare! And Ashcroft House is on the top of our list!

We arrived in Victoria a day ahead of schedule during our September vacation. Our pre-reserved room would not be available until the next evening so we were given the name of the Ashcroft House.

David and Paulanne happened to have a vacancy so we headed to the Ashcroft House. David welcomed us warmly, took us right to our beautiful room and gave us directions to the Heron Rock Bistro for dinner. (the dinner was delicious!!) We had experienced a long day of travel and found the serene and welcoming atmosphere a blessing.

The breakfast the next morning was delicious and plentiful and enjoyed in their lovely sunroom. Paulanne is a great cook! You can tell the host and hostess enjoy their callling!

The Ashcroft House is definitely a lovely place to stay in Victoria.

This place was fabulous - I arrived late at night, David gave me directions to Kompira (a very authentic and wonderful little Japanese restaurant downtown Victoria), and then I settled down for the night in one of the biggest beds I've ever snoozed in. A gigantic monsterous thing that could have fit a small family!

The room was nice and all, but breakfast was what really made me fall in love. Paulanne made a brekkie from scratch, complete with sugared yams, whipped butter and scones that would put Martha, Giada and all those other Food Network ladies to shame.

What a treat! It's a nice location next to the sea, and while the house looks modest from the outside, it is really a historic gem. I can't wait to come back, wish I had more time there!

David and Paulanne are fantastic.
