We really enjoyed our trip. It is amazing to see the whales swim and breach near the boat. Our captain/guide was Dale. He told us a lot of interesting stories. It was a great experience!

I had never been whale watching before and I was more than excited to get out on the water and view some whales. I was nervous about the tour as I wasn't sure we would see whales at all but Eagle Wing quickly took that worry away. Before even getting on the boat, the Captain educated us on the current situations and where the whales were within the area. Once on the boat they had everything for us including sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc. and the Captain and Biologist on the ship were so knowledgeable about whales and the ocean area we were in.

We saw SO many orcas, it was spectacular! But the best part is that the Biologist on ship (can't remember her name) could identify the whales and had names for them all. It was amazing to see the whales but also be educated about the specific pod we were seeing (J-Pod). Closer to the end of the tour, instead of heading back in, the Captain decided to extend the tour in order to try and find some humpback whales in a different area and a different pod of orcas. He took us out to a different area where we were unable to see the humpbacks but we saw a pod of transient orcas. They extended our trip by 1.5 hours JUST so we could see more whales. THAT is AMAZING service and dedication!

Definitely choose Eagle Wing! They were so accommodating and the BOAT was amazing!! SO fast and easy to move around to get better views of the whales!

We are so please that not only met but by all account exceeded your expectations. The naturalist on board was Val and she is an amazing person that has the utmost respect for our environment, especially the whales. Yes we have very fast open boats, the best for viewing and we will always extend a tour is everyone on board agrees and we think we can find more whales just as they did on that day. Please let your friends and co-workers know about the tour and please come back and visit us again.

We love it when local take advantage of what's in their own back yard and takes the time to write a review. That means that not only are we tops with visitors but with folks that live in Victoria and on Vancouver Island. Every day is different so just remember, if you the chance to go whale watching with us again while you are here or especially if you live here - DO IT

My husband and I have been in Victoria for 3 days. Of the things to do we considered whale watching...We know VERY touristy but how often does anyone get the opportunity? Eagle Wing was the highest rated and we do use Trip Advisor where ever we go and they have them at the top.  We strongly believe in making sure we "pay it forward" especially when a recommendation pans out. Like most there is a hesitation about spending $260 ( for two, incl tax) and not seeing whales but for two people who grew up spending summers in Northern Ontario on the lake....spending a guaranteed  3.5 hours on the water (on a great boat with a proper bathroom on board), in the sun surrounded by mountains already had a great appeal for us!

When we arrived at Fisherman's Wharf ( add some extra time to walk around and have a bite to eat, The 'Floating Village is super cool and quaint. Immediately, the staff were super friendly and informative. We were  provided wind breaker pants, warm coats, gloves and once on board hats, sunglasses, blankets AND sunscreen were also available at not extra cost.

Derek and Jeff were nothing short of awesome! They made everyone comfortable right away, provided lots of interesting and knowledgeable information,(Jeff is a marine biologist) and funny and just great guys!! Not only did we see Humpback Whales, they also made sure to take us to see wildlife ( Bald eagles and seals). The end of the trip was nothing short of once in a lifetime. The guys took us to an area where a "pod" of  Killer whales where located. We watched them for almost an hour! Lots of what we now know are "transient" whales even though the"resident" whales had left. The humpbacks are back for a second summer and seem be making a home here. Derek and Jeff also take great pleasure in what they do much so that they extended our time on the water (with everyone's permission) because they too were delighted at the "show" the orvas were putting on. . These guys also give back by donating 1% of sales to whale conservation charities and volunteer themselves. We had a gorgeous day and calm waters. We noticed that weather was a factor in most bad reviews for all companies. The boats and the guides really matter too and these guys deserve to be number one. This made our trip.

You sure had a fantastic day and touring with Jeff and Derek is nothing short of spectacular. They as do all our captains, naturalists and office staff have a particular passion for what they do and it truly does show as you stated. We also appreciate your comment about the not so favorable reviews but please be assured, we are #1 and intend to be #1 in Victoria for a long long time and its because of passengers such as your self and the very kind and detailed reviews you write that helps us stay on top. We do offer fast open boats, the best for viewing, the best captains and naturalists and always try and exceed expectation. Something we seem to have done in spades on that day. Thanks for sharing and hope to have you back in Victoria again one day.

We went out on a beautiful day whale watching with Derek and Jeff. We saw bald eagles, harbor seals, mother and calf Humpback whales, 9 resident killer whales playing, jumping out of the water. We were even able to hear them.We couldn't believe how lucky we were to see such a wonderful example of nature. Derek and Jeff are very professional, knowledgeable and courteous.
The tour was 4 hours long and just such a wonderful experience. We highly recommend Eagle Wing Tours.

What a day and so glad you booked with Eagle Wing. The kind of day you had is something that happens on most days between June and mid October and we try and make each and every trip all encompassing if possible. Thank you again, we know you had a choice.
