“Delicious and affordable”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

Ordered almond breaded chicken, chicken chop suey, beef and brocolli, s&s pork, wonton soup, mushroom rice. I wouldnt order the mushroom fried rice again but everything else was really good. I thought that $7 for 8 wontons in a container of broth was a bit pricey but they put lots of Veggies in the wonton so it kind of made up for it....

“Great Food & Service”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

Per a recommendation of our hotel clerk we went to this restaurant. It is located on the edge of the small China Town in Victoria. Since it was late therefore, we were the only persons in the place. Our group of 4 had a delicious meal of a combo/sampler platter for 4. The hot tea was also good. This is a family run business with the father-chef and daughter-waitress.The price was reasonable for the area. We would go to again for Asian Food.

“Never again!”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We had exceptionally bad dining experience tonight in this restaurant. It started with spring rolls – while crunchy outside, they had uncooked batter inside. This evening the restaurant had a few dishes on special– salt and pepper squid (our favorite seafood dish when we go out for Chinese) and crispy green beans. The squid was way too greasy, too heavily covered with batter for all-time favourite dish. The “crispy green beans “ came out overcooked and very spicy. While we specifically asked for non-spicy dishes when we ordered, nothing was said about bean dish spice level. And the last was crispy noodle chow main. The crispy noodle turned into mushy mess not suitable for leftovers. We left disappointed with the food almost untouched . We will never go back there. No adjustment on the bill was offered. The waitress however was pleasant and very friendly.

“Great food”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

We went to ths place because it had the best reviews. We weren't disappointed. We had the combo plate which was a selection of dishes and included a soup and a chow mein noodle dish meaning no additional appetisers or sides were needed. Endless iced water and Chinese tea was complementary so the evening was great value.

“Solid Chinese/Szechuan-don't judge it by appearance”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

Our intended destination, the Japanese noodle shop on the next block, had closed, so we ended up at Forum as our back-up, based on the reviews. We were the only customers when we walked in at 8:15 on a Friday evening, so I was a bit nervous, then the 1960's era standard menu (egg fu young and chow mien) made me even more nervous, though there was a list of specials. We decided to hang in there, and I'm glad we did. Several more tables filled up after our arrival, including two large tables of Chinese men. Always makes me feel more comfortable, I figure they know the local restaurants and what they're doing.

We had 1/2 a barbequed duck which was excellent-bronzed crunchy skin not to be missed: chow fun with beef and vegetable-very good; shredded pork with Szechuan pickle-very good; Szechaun eggplant, tangy and not too sweet; and spicy prawns with shell, fire peppers but perfectly fried and wonderfully crunchy with spice.

What seemed to be a very plain restaurant turned out some consistently good Chinese food-don't be fooled by first appearances, but do care in what you order.
