How does one plan to stay in someone unknown's house? A blind booking is intimidating without knowing anything about the permises or its owners. It's usually a high-stress situation and it was with us while planning a stay in Vernon and faced with a choice of several B&B places.
Our apprehenstion was somewhat eased after I spoke with Barbara on the phone. It disappeared completely as soon as we arrived and had the tour of the place. I did not expect anything of the sort that we found, or the price that was asked of us. This B&B is obviously a labour of love and that is reflected in everything within the four walls as well as outside. The care of the plants alone must consume a major part of the day.
Inside, the place was cozy, the coffee maker and the coffee/tea selection most appreciated. The cookies and the fruit... unexpected and also appreciated. The food, specially made to our preferences, was equisite. We were made to feel like invited guests rather than room renters. There is no possible way of us staying elsewhere the next time we visit Vernon.
Thank you Barb and Gil, you made our day. And night.
