“Amazing location - great visit.”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Stayed here with a few friends a couple years back for a ski trip. The location of this hotel is key as you are really close to the chairlift. Restaurants and shopping is right at your door step as well.

We decided to stay at Whistler on impulse so had no booking. We chose this hotel as it had good reviews, parking on site and we were able to negotiate a very good price. The reception staff were great and gave good advice. Our room
Overlooked the village which was perfect and we certainly did not hear any noise from there. The room had everything we needed including a kitchen, table and chairs set up for dinner , large foyer area, and even a fireplace! There was no dining but plenty of eateries close by. Overall a very enjoyable stay in a most amazing town

We stayed in a two bedroom suite room which was very nice. It had a full kitchen, large living room area including both a murphy bed and sofa bed, and the two bedrooms one of which is a loft area overlooking the living room with a small staircase leading up to it. There was only one bathroom though, so if you had people using all the beds the bathroom would likely be a bottleneck.

The location is right in the center of the village stroll, where everything is easy walking distance; but all the hotels along the stroll have a comparable location. The Holiday Inn is central, so it's slightly more convenient for restaurants and shops, slightly less convenient to the lifts than some others.

Many of the Whistler hotels have outdoor heated swimming pools and hot tubs, some with nice views, but the Holiday Inn only has a small indoor hot tub. For us, that was the biggest drawback compared to other Whistler hotels, for example the the Delta across the street or the Crystal. But to be fair, the Holiday Inn is usually cheaper.

We showed up a couple of hours before check in time (which is 4pm) and politely asked if we could get the room before then, and the reception said we could try again after 3pm, but in the end housekeeping wasn't done with our room until 8 minutes after 4pm.

Thank you for reviewing our property after your recent stay. We appreciate our guests' feedback. As for early check-in we do our best to accommodate these requests, but if the hotel is full the night before it may not be possible.

Nothing too special about this hotel apart from it's location. Right in the centre of Whistler village and walking distance to everything you need including lifts. The room itself was dated and in need of a bit of a refurb but it was clean and nothing was peeling off the walls! The whole hotel to be honest was a bit stuck in the 90s but it is a long way from being an expensive hotel by Whistler's standards so you definitely get what you pay for. The cleaners were discreet, efficient and reliable and the check in staff were always very friendly and helpful and there is a storage room for luggage once you have checked out FOC. When skiing in Whistler I tried to spend as little time in the hotel as possible so it wasn't a big deal for me but for those of you who need a luxurious place to crash out in after a long day this is not the place for you. Spa and fitness facilities VERY limited.

Start with the good: better than average rooms for a Holiday Inn. Roomy, full kitchen including dishes, comfortable bed, fireplace, good shower. Since the property is part of Whistler Village, there are many restaurants and bars within a very short walking distance; i.e., extremely convenient. Front desk staff very helpful.

The Bad. The proximity to all of those restaurants and bars makes this a very noise place to stay. We were on the fifth floor and the party going on on the plaza below made for two very long nights. The fitness room is pretty lousy - only three machines and they were not in good working order.

The Odd: this is a very, very confusing hotel property to navigate. There are different towers and some elevators only service certain parts of the building. Parking is another confusing area at first. Hotel guests required to park on the lowest level (five levels), so leave plenty of time to get in/out.

Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I'd make sure we all had earplugs.

Room Tip: Ask if there are rooms on the opposite side from the Village plaza to avoid the noise.

I am disappointed that your stay was not 100% to your satisfaction. We do have some suites that do not face the pedestrian village stroll which are quieter. If you put in a request for a quieter room we do our best to accommodate you. The lay out of the property can be somewhat confusing at first, but due to its central village location the village level consists of retail only with multiple wings for the hotel above it. Thank you for taking to time to review our property. We appreciate all of our guests' feedback.

We stayed here overnight during the 4th of July weekend. We stayed in a 2BR suite which was awesome. It was a 2 storey unit with 2 queen size beds, a kitchen and a living room. The living room had a Murphy bed as well. It was a very comfy stay.
The hotel sits right in the heart of the village. Steps away from the lobby, you'll see Earls, restaurant n bar. There are tons of shops, cafes, bars n restaurants right there.
Things we didn't like about the place : we arrived at noon, but they didnt give us the room till 4pm. Then the checkout time for the next day was at 11 with no options for a late checkout (we asked, but they said no).

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Given that the July 4th long weekend was extremely busy and we were sold out we couldn't offer late check outs. Normally it isn't a problem, but because we were sold out with large turnover of rooms it just wasn't possible on this weekend. As for check in time we guarantee 4pm check in, but if the room is ready earlier we have no problem checking people in.

Firstly it is the location of this Hotel that wins it top marks. A few minutes from all the action, restaurants, shops etc; My room was really a small apartment with a double bed, a pull down bed. A dining set ( laid up) and a kitchenette fully stocked with crockery etc; Also 'large' dish washer/washing machine/tumble dryer. Spotlessly clean throughout.
Would return and recommend this Hotel - one not to miss!
