the location is wonderful at the bottom of blackcomb mountain and you can ski almost to the door. Service pretty good, a lot of young staff, service in canada and amercia much better than europe in general.

quite expensive and you must tip a little.

the outdoors hot tub is good, we met a lot of business men as there was a conference on, so would not advise for a romantic tripo.

ate in the restaurant, very quiet and very over prices, I would head out into whistler to the bars and other places as much more of a vibe.

the bar area was very nice though as had a lovely log fire.

would certainly go back, but quite expensive.

I stayed at the Fairmont in Whistler for 2 nights for business. There was nothing remarkable about the hotel. The lobby is nice and has a "lodge" type atmosphere. The rooms were average, as were the bathrooms. The fitness center was above average with 3 treadmills, 3 elliptical machines and a separate weight room. I had several catered meals there and everything was just average. The coffee maker in the room was grimy (see photo).

The location is not easy to get to as it is a good 2+ hr drive with the hotel shuttle from the Vancouver Airport.

However, the town is adorable. It is in a beautiful setting and the place is great for kids. There are lots of kids activities on Blackcombe mountain where the Fairmont is like horseback riding, putt putt golf and bungee/trampolines.

The day before our arrival, there was a massive landslide on the road to the hotel. The concierge staff called did all the legwork to get a float plane instead of a limo from Vancouver. The hotel gave a significant discount (40% off the room rate) as well as a free night because of an inconvenience they did not cause.

Rooms were great. The only downside is the spa and room service are crazy overpriced.

Other than that – excellent experience.

Stayed there with 2 children. Awesome location, far from bars, restaurants and noise of the lower village. If you need to get to lower village there is a free shuttle bus that goes about every 15 min.
Expensive parking $25 or $29 valet, if you want one. Lots of space in pools and hot tubs. The main pool needs some work with tiles falling apart, but otherwise nice and clean. Change rooms to the standard of Fairmont. No complain here. You can have a breakfast, lunch downstairs in Portobelo. Decent food and price. Recommend it. I would stay again.

I spent two nights in a slopeside room on the 6th floor. Overlooked the pool and had a perfect view of Blackcomb Mountain. The room was a decent size with super-comfy two queen beds with pillow-top mattresses and big, fluffy pillows. Wonderful for sleeping.

I didn't dine in any on-site restaurants, opting instead to walk across the creek to the Village for better people-watching.

The pool and hot tubs were great - three hot tubs, one lap pool (with underwater music) and a larger pool. Well-maintained facilities and very nice landscaping, all nestled below Blackcomb Mountain. Gorgeous.

The Fairmont staff were exceptionally courteous and were very prompt in meeting any request. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
