We spent almost a week here in late Feb-Early March. The location is fantastic and the SKI ON - SKI OFF is super convenient. The hotel is nice but starting to feel a little tired. The staff and concierge were all helpful and very nice. Our room was spacious, but we did find it hard to get a consistent temperature in the shower all week.

We tried all the restaurants in the hotel and they all offered good food (on the expensive side)

One event did tick me off however, even though it was a relatively small thing. We checked in the night before the gold medal Olympic hockey game and were encouraged to join in for a party to watch the game at 4:00AM. We got up and came downstairs to join about 100 people watching the game in front the TVs in the bar. They had a big urn of coffee out for guests, which we thought was thoughtful. At the end of the second period one of the servers came around and was asking everyone for their room number. He then came around and presented everyone a bill for $4.60 each for the mediocre drip coffee. Everyone felt it was a money grab instead of a nice gesture.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and we are very sorry to hear that your expectations were not met during your stay. As a landmark property within the resort, we strive to preserve the classic alpine setting of the hotel along with continuous upgrades and enhancements.

We are concerned to hear that you were unable to get a consistent water temperature in your shower throughout your stay, that is certainly not up to our normal standards.

With regards to the coffee during the gold medal hockey game. We are happy to hear that you joined some of the other eager guests to watch the game early in the morning, however it sounds like our team did not clearly communicate the cost associated with it, please accept our sincere apologies for our lack of communication.

I truly appreciate your valuable feedback and can assure you that your comments have been taken very seriously and will be beneficial in assisting us in the future.

This is our second stay at the Chateau and this time we stayed on the gold floor which is a must if you can

The team on the gold floor are fantastic and deserve a big thanks, they made our stay one of the best we have had at any hotel. They arranged everything for us from the car to pick us up at the airport, booked restaurants prior to our arrival and the car to take us to the Pacific Rim in Vancouver (wow what a hotel, which is another review)

From the time we had arrived after a long flight from Heathrow we were already checked with our rooms keys already waiting for us with guy’s on the door as we pulled up, so all we had to do was go straight to our room followed closely by our luggage.

The room had a great view of the mountains and had everything you could possibly need.

In the gold lounge you are looked after by a great team who will do all they can to make your stay as comfortable and pleasurable as possible, as it say’s in the hotel literature it defiantly feels like a hotel within a hotel. The breakfast is fantastic you won’t go hungry, and the canapés in the evening are amazing with plenty to go around and great choice, only for the fact that there are some great restaurants in whistler you would never have to leave the hotel to eat.

All that is left to say is big thank you once again for a fantastic stay to all the staff at the Fairmount Whistler and especially the team on the gold floor for a fantastic stay.

We travelled as a family - we had an amazing stay at the hotel. Rarely have we experienced a hotel do so much to make families feel at home and have fun. The actitvities they provide are almost overwhelming for someone who usually skis in Europe, but something we very easy could get used to as a family.
Most importantly the service is eminent as is the willingness to help from the staff. We had some issue with housekeeping cutting a cord of a headset, before we even noticed they called to inform us and got our daughter another - new - with an hour. The ski service is wonderful and the atmosphere is just fun and cozy. We would definately go again. Overall we loved it. I wish I could say that more often, but one of our best stays in a hotel in many many years.

Had an amazing one night stay before our rental house was available. Service was flawless. Facilities were very nice, although pool area and restaurant were crowded. Room had nice decor and reasonably spacious. The location is unbeatable - immediately at the Blackcomb base. The breakfast was overpriced at $30 per person and the room was quite expensive, but I guess you have to pay for highest quality.

We were staying at the Chateau Whistler for my 30th Birthday Celebration. Myself and my wife came from Calgary and my parents visited from the UK.
The level of service and hospitality on the Gold Fairmont floor was class. Staff across the hotel are always willing to go the extra mile.
Plenty for my Mother to do as she was not skiing.
If you are planning to eat off site - make sure you book tables for the evening.

Room Tip: the extra amenities on the gold floor are worth the additional cost - especially after a long day sk...

We visited in the skiing season and the hotel is ideally situated at the bottom of the blackcomb chair lift so ski in and ski out.
The hotel has its own ski hire and boot and ski lockers so no queuing. Rooms are great and spacious with large comfortable beds, coffee making etc. We were upgraded and I think this is standard apart from busy times.
Food is excellent with two restaurants. Portions are large and could not fault the food although a tad on the expensive side.
We had breakfast included and this was superb with large selection of hot and cold food. We tended to stock up and snack the rest of the day.
Overall a classy hotel ideally situated with excellent service.

Good to be back here after 5 years away. Glad to say the property and staff are in their tried and true excellent form. Rooms are very comfortable. Excellent dining options. Staff all very professional and attentive. Well maintained.

Only downside is that along with everything else here in Whistler, its very expensive. Everything. But, in most ways, at least you get what you pay for in terms of quality.
