Reserved a one bedroom suite for our anniversary. Received a free upgrade to a mountain view room. Sounds great - but when the bathroom is the most spacious room in the suite, how can one be comfortable? The bedroom was so small that I got dressed in the dining area. I could barely walk around the bed; maximum 2-3 feet between the bed and wall/dressers (on all three sides!)
The web-site advertised a full kitchen in the suites; however we only had a bar fridge which barely held two days of food. The counter top was about 2 feet which made it difficult to prepare a meal for two.
The deck had two chairs on it, but you couldn't actually sit in them because there was no room for your legs!
The bathroom was spacious and well laid out, but lacked in maintenance. The taps were loose, the shower door leaked profusely, and the grout was mildewed. (Oh, I fixed the dishwasher racks myself.)
The sofa cushion was stained.
Self parking was $30/night ($34 valet); 4 & 5 star Vancouver hotels are cheaper.
You're not allowed to use a luggage cart - must hire a bellhop.
On a good note - the restaurant meal was absolutely superb, as were the chocolate covered strawberries in our room!

Dear Joanne R,

Thank you for staying with us for your anniversary! We appreciate being a part of your special occasion, and would like to apologize that your suite did not live up to your expectations. We have a large variety of room configurations and layouts, on your next visit we'd be pleased to recommend one that has a more spacious layout for you. We would also like to apologize for the maintenance issues in your room, we have shared your comments with our housekeeping and engineering teams to ensure they are followed up on.

Loved this modern, well laid out hotel - the rooms are more like small apartments with gas log fires, kitchen area with big fridge/icemaker, dishwasher, plates and cutlery, sofa - so easy to feel at home. Lovely outlook over the village. We could have settled in for a week easily if we had the time. Even laundry facilities on each floor! After the expensive rip off prices in 3 famous Rockies Fairmont hotels, this was amazing. Staff were also very helpful and friendly despite being busy.
And the bathroom was not only spacious, it was the first one of 7 that had a separate shower, so nice not to have to balance in a bath. Lovely toiletries, did not have to do a hunt for the hairdryer (I hate it when housekeeping puts them away all the time in the cloth bag hidden back in a cupboard or drawer.)
Location is basically between the golf club driving range and the Blackcomb Mountain gondolas and ski/mountain bike lifts. Perfect. being right in the Village means you have all the well laid out pedestrian access to the shops, cafes and restaurants there, most of which have covered verandahs to keep out of the weather if you need to.
Could not recommend it more highly.

We stayed here in January, 2012 for 10 nights and had a fantastic experience. Well organised, welcoming reception staff. Extremely clean and tidy. We really enjoyed the opportunity to be "environmentally friendly" and earn the $5 reward vouchers - we had a delicious meal in the restaurant on our last night. Beautiful area and facilities. Japanese restaurant downstairs is wonderful too; excellent sushi. Great bar staff and all up; a fantastic hotel! Would definitely stay here again! It probably would have been a little too expensive except that we received a 50% off deal for booking early - so great value in that sense. Valet service was really handy and a less than 1 minute walk to the ski slopes.

First time for me at this Westin property and I was not dissapointed! Staff were great and the location cannot be beat. Just at the edge of the village so access is easy and ammenties are fabulous. Switched rooms as was not happy with the first one and change was made without incident. Parking is a tad pricey at $35 but other than that, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Eric (GM) and his team should be complimented!

The property and service is excellent at the Westin Whistler. The heavenly bed makes for great sleep and the heavenly shower makes waking up all the easier. As a ski in / ski out property, its proximity to Whistler village is great. We were staying on SPG points. The winter rates are steep as one might expect. The coffee service and small refrigerator were nice. Valet service is prompt but not cheap (approximately $25/daily). I have no idea what self parking is like or where one would even park. The occasion of our weekend stay in Whistler was our anniversary so a few minutes after check in two complimentary glasses of champagne arrived! A very nice touch from the hotel and reservation staff!
My one complaint was with the quality of the internet service. The hardwired connection in my room was flakey and going to the business center and lobby for their wifi was worse. I paid the daily fee for the internet use but could not maintain a connection consistently or long enough to download messages from my company's servier. *Note that in March SPG Gold members and above get free in room internet. So even with poor connectivity, at least you are not paying more for it. Workout facilities were nice - including the pool and sauna. The views from the treadmills and bikes cannot be beat.
We will definitely be back and look forward to going in the summer to see the off season activities Whistler has to offer.

Room Tip: I asked for a corner room which I think was marginally larger from the bellman's remarks when we...

We drove from Vancouver to Whistler in September 2012. What a beautiful drive. We had been staying at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, so using the Lobby phone I pre booked a night in Whistler at the Westin. Such a beautiful hotel. Service was lovely. Room was very nice, clean, beds are heavenly as usual. View could have been better, we were looking at trees, would have been nice to be on a higher floor. Access to the Pedestrian village in Whistler is excellent from this hotel. Got up early and walked to breakfast. I have nothing bad to say!

Room Tip: If you can choose a higher floor so that you can get some beautiful views. Stay more than one night...
