“Fantastic Hotel”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Loved this hotel it really is picture perfect, rooms were superb and spacious, the super king bed was immense. The kitchenette part although not used much was very good, service was attentive even down to putting the dishwasher on for one teaspoon.

We mostly ate out at night but the breakfasts were excellent.

The outdoor pool and hottub is wonderful esp coming up to Christmas when the snow is falling, absolutely idyllic.

The only gripe was the charge for ski valet, which is mandatory as they dont allow skis/boards in rooms. We were aware we had to use it but not that there was an additional charge, to their credit however they refunded this charge on check-out.

Would go back here in a heartbeat, looking forward to it already.

We recently spent a short ski vacation in Whistler and for the first time stayed at the Westin. The front desk staff, (especially Nam), valet service and lobby area were all very welcoming. This hotel is in a great location, close to gondolas, shopping and restaurants. Our room also included a small kitchenette which was great when we stayed in. The spa with exercise room, pool and hot tubs with indoor/outdoor options were great. We will definitely stay here again.

Good location relevant to lifts/gondola. Ski valet at gondola in afternoon to take skis back - perfect! Valet in hotel in mornings tended to have a long queue so go down early. Westin all you would expect. Downside was extractor in kitchen - not sure it existed and I set off the alarm. Lobby called to check all was ok. Had to cook with windows open which was not ideal as it was rather cold when we visited. Outdoor hot tub out on last day with no explanation which was disappointing. Biggest downside for us was that they charged for internet. Do not see how they can justify this rip off - even hostels give free wifi.

Room Tip: Spa tended to be full around 3-5 pm particularly with young children, make sure you go down early if...

Stay here if you want close access to the main gondolas, ski valet who'll take your equipment back whilst you enjoy the après in town, a variety of eateries on site (bar, restaurant, sushi), plus ski rental & shops, pool, gym, etc. We had room only which gave us the flexibility to be able to prep a meal 'at home'.

I would definitely go back but be aware the standard rooms aren't huge. And understand that a kitchen in your room means a noisy fridge too!!

However there's also a toasty real flame gas fire, a well equipped bathroom & plenty of storage. Staff are very friendly & the whole place is spotless.

Well worth the money!

Our first time to Whistler and wasn't disappointed with the hotel. The location was close to both the gondolas, ski school drop off, the shops and restaurants. The ski valet was great, collecting your skis at the bottom of the slope at the end of the day. We had a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for our family of 5, it was beautifully appointed, the kitchen was small & lacked some storage space for groceries, fine for making breakfast, although I wouldn't want to be cooking dinner there each night. The pool & spa was a hit with us all and the massage in the health spa was lovely although probably the most expensive I've had! The staff were helpful and quick to respond to any requests. We were there with a group of friends and thought that the hotel could have benefited from a games room as there seemed to be a lot of kids about the place.

Well located, minutes from gondolas to both mountains. A ski valet that collects skis at the bottom of the Whistler gondola. A good lobby bar that feels like it is at a ski mountain. Good service. Friendly staff. Comfortable room with a beautiful view of the trees laden with snow. Big windows. Reasonable prices for a world-class ski resort. But the Fairmont Whistler has boot warmers!

We stayed at this place for 4 nights. The location is good, really close to the Gondola. The swimming pool and hot tub are nice. However, the restaurant is very expensive with bad food and fast food restaurant like settings. Worst of all, my wife made some calls to the U.S. (WA), they charge $2.50 per minute. It's funny that in this day and age, they still charge this much for a basic landline phone call, while the roaming charge for cell phones are only $1/minute and the average cross country/state phone charges for residents are more like $0.01/minute. I talked to the service manager about this charge, he refused to take it off even though we paid $450 per night for the room.
