The coast blackcomb at Whistler is the farthest hotel up the side of blackcomb. If you dont have a car, its really inconvenient. I dont know the shuttle schedule in the winter but during summer months it only picks up every 40 minutes and doesnt start unitl around 10am. Its about a 1/3 of a mile hike from the bottom of blackcomb (part of it steep). We walked to the village for meals/ shopping etc.. and after a few trips it turns into a hassle. Our first day I hiked the hill 4 times and I found ourselves trying to plan around the shuttle schedule - it just wasnt worth it, considering there are so many other locations closer to the village. Even with a car, I would pefer to have something closer that doesnt require driving everywhere. If your in town for a ski camp on the glacier, I wouldnt reccomend it- hiking up with a pack/ boots etc.. everyday was a pain.
