we wrote a great report for this hotel as a ski centre - where the ski in/ski out is great.
there is a different clientele in the summer. Families, couples, some of each with dogs - all making up a good mix appropriate to the hotel.
BUT there was also a large 30+ school/camp group of teenagers who were largely unsupervised as far as i caould tell. They blocked corridors and entrances, shouted down corridors and from balcony to balcony, and on occasions took over the pool area. thirty or so teenage boys playing ball games in a pool. shouting, trying to duck each other under etc make the pool area unpleasant for all the rest of the guests, and noisy if your room overlooks the pool. shutting the well double glazed windows helped til ten when they came screaming and shouting into the hotel - but temperatures were high and this wasn't really viable.
Coast really need to make a choice as to who they want staying here. Do they want couples/families, or do they want adolescent groups - the two don't mix well.
In addition the housekeeping was poor and on a couple of days beds were not made, bins not emptied, wet towels not changed etc.
We'll come back for the ski-ing - because its great for that, but will probably opt for somewhere with a bit more control in the summer - what a shame because the location , price , breakfast arrangements, pool etc are all family and couple friendly.

Room Tip: think twice before paying extra for a pool view - as it can be very noisy if groups use the pool. wo...

Ski right from the hotel to the bottom of Blackcomb and get on the lift. At the end of the day ski right to the hotel, click out of you skis and jump in the hot tub.

Rooms are large, two hot tubs and a pool. Breakfast has something for everyone and plenty of everything.

We were in a two bedroom that came with a King size bed in one room and double/single bunk in the other. Two full bathrooms and a kitchen. The couch also folded out to sleep two more.

Location is great as it is quiet and away from the partygoers. Great for families.

we were staying in Coast Blackcomb Suites in July, right after a long weekend. I was surprised to found this place is very crowd. Despite the fact that Blackcomb Suits are on very top edge of the Blackcomb mountain, there is a free shuttle service, and buses are running each 40 minutes or so. It is easy to get down to the Central Village by food as well, it's will take only 10-15 minutes of a nice walk. Rooms are OK, you will get all you need in your kitchen as well. It was a nice surprised to find robes for the pool, and towels for the pool are also provided at a health club.
Breakfast was included, and was great. There are two hot tubs and a pool on this property. Pool is a bit too warm for the summer. But we used to swim at the Lost Lake that is in a small walk distance from this property.
We are consider to stay here at winter time as well, and would recommend this place to all our friends.

We just got back from a 4 day stay, we come every summer to Whistler and this is the best place and the best deal. The staff are very nice and we are happy to be able to bring our small dog. There was a large group of teens staying here as part of a softball tournament, but they didn't bother us as they were on a different floor.. I recommend a higher floor, very peaceful and quiet facing the Blackcomb ski lifts. The rooms are very large and comfortable. You can walk down the mountain to base of Blackcomb (5 minutes) and on Sunday is the summer farmers market right there which is lovely.
The free whistler bus gets you to and from the hotel front door every half hour day and night, we took it 5 times and it literally arrived on the minute it was due each time.

The breakfast is free, and the offerings are unlimited which is nice, but it can be very crowded to find seating when the hotel is busy so we picked up plates and brought them back to the room. I agree with another person's comment that the breakfast is not as good as it used to be, mostly breads and cereals when they used to offer ham and eggs.
This is a great deal for what you pay, and lush green surroundings on the beautiful mountainside, perfect for families and people with pets. There's lots of hotels right in the village so don't stay here if you want to be right in the action and bars.

Room Tip: Higher floors - 5 or 6, facing the mountain or forest are nice and quiet

We tried this hotel because it seemed reasonable and we were looking for something different. Lesson learned, don't deviate from what you know! This hotel was dirty, the dust on the baseboards and furniture was so thick at first I thought it was growing mold! All the tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked. If you want luxury this is not the place to find it. Other guests were loud riding skateboards in the halls at all hours. Clearly this establishment caters to a lower class. Then we get to the breakfast, lets just say if you want to dine off of dirty dishes and enjoy a healthy helping of hair with your meals you'll be quite happy here. The pool was small and dated but surprisingly clean considering the state it the rest of the hotel. The elevators are slow and you will need to allow an extra 30 minutes to get out of the building. The shuttle is not very prompt so don't count on it if you have a schedule to keep. This place is much farther from everything than you expect once you get there you are trapped! Stay anywhere else but here!

No air conditioning very stuffy rooms
No soundproofing you can hear everything
Rooms have been well used - tiles on floor in bathroom cracked, Lino floor on kitchen ripped
Clearly rooms get a quick once over in terms of cleaning - not the cleanest place
Breakfast is a good effort but not very appetizing when coffee mugs are filled with crud and there is hair in the oatmeal
To far away from the village
We come to whistler every summer thought we would try this location - could live with the distance from village if it was worth it but it is just not a very pleasant place overall.

We found this was a very nice hotel and got a great off season deal. Friendly staff and quiet with tons of space in the two bedroom, two bath suite we got. The fact that breakfast was included was super. The bus to the village was easy to use and quick which meant we could leave the car the whole time.
