“Great stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2013

Excellent value for money and all that you want for your Whistler vacation. The rooms have full kitchens which is great for a Whistler getaway. Large pool and hot tub and an unbeatable ski in / out location on Blackcomb. Breakfast was very handy especially to be able to hit the slopes nice and early.

We stayed here recently after moving from our previous hotel in the village due to wanting to stay one extra night. The things I loved about this hotel: fireplace in the room, excellent breakfast included in the price, pool, hot tubs and gym. We stayed in the middle of winter and it was fun to go swimming outside and then to come inside and smell spices in the lobby where warm apple cider, eggnog, coffee and cookies were waiting. The only downside is that it is a trek to the village however they do offer a free city bus to take you there. On the flip side it was very quiet. You can ski out from the hotel down to the lift however we were there for only one night so we did not take advantage of this.

This is a long overdue review as we (wife, daughter (7) and I) stayed here for a weekend in November 2012. What prompted me to write this review was the fact that we are looking to go skiing and we are wanting to stay at this hotel again. Definitely a true ski in/out. It was great that breakfast was included as well as free wifi. Room was clean and a kitchen is always a bonus. Yes, it does get noisy in the mornings as people walk around with their ski gear but that's expected.

Room Tip: Be sure to bring a bathing suit as the pool and hot tubs offer a very picturesque view.

Booked a suite for one night stay Thanksgiving weekend. Nice hotel although only one staff at the front desk and 6 people waiting. Undergound parking is an additional $19. Breakfast came included in the price which was pretty good although the breakfast area can be viewed from the front lobby which isn't that great for new guests arriving seeing trays of empty food on stacking carts. The room was nice and clean except for one stain on the carpet and slightly run down (you can tell it probably was a beautiful hotel at one time). View of the mountains off the balcony was nice (overlooked the pool area also). Comfortable beds (1 King & two twins in separate rooms with separate bathrooms). Kitchen came stocked with necessary supplies (ie. wine opener LOL). Free bus ride to Whistler Village (the hotel gives you the bus schedule with your hotel key). If I come to Whistler again I would research a more up to date hotel to stay in however all in all for the price the hotel was nice.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view of the mountains.

The Coast Blackcombe was a great place to stay. The front desk staff were friendly on check-in and our room was very clean. We were impressed with the amenities supplied in the washroom, very different to other hotels we have seen on our travels. The king bed was comfortable, the linens for the hide-a-bed were easy to find and clean and the room was serviced well each day. I wasn't too fussed on the breakfast served as it was always very busy but for a complimentary breakfast it was adequate. I'm a housekeeper so I know what to look for and I know whats expected and the Coast Blackcombe Suites didn't disappoint.

Our family booked 3 suites this past weekend. The kitchens and supplies were quite adequate to cook a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner for 10. The place was very clean, staff very attentive and the lovely white robes supplied for our trips to the hot tubs were much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding - silk quilts? The quilt was very, very light but warm. The men were pleased with the place to hose off the bikes after getting pretty dirty as well as the easy bike storage. Not a single complaint. We are all looking forward to our next visit there.

We upgraded our room from a studio to a one-bedroom and were really pleased with the space, the décor, the comfort and the view from our sixth floor balcony. We were impressed with all staff who offered friendly, efficient service and delighted by the quality of the room as we have a small dog and often get relegated to rather tired-looking accommodation on the main floor with a view of the parking lot. Secure underground parking was a real plus as we left our vehicle and took the shuttle to explore and dine in the Village of Whistler.

The only problem we encountered here was inconsiderate guests who failed to respect the hotel's on-leash policy. These individuals always had large, hyper-active dogs and we even encountered them loose in the hotel hallways. I reported this to an understanding receptionist and suggested that their security people watch out for these transgressions and enforce the hotel policy. It is so worrisome that other supposed dog lovers could ruin a truly special, top notch accommodation for the rest of us.

Oh, by the way, there is no restaurant in the complex so do plan on going elsewhere to dine, except for breakfast. The breakfast is really good, but can get very busy when a tour bus or major delegation arrives. Fortunately, we were flexible and able to get a table after waiting a few minutes. Others opted to take breakfast back to their room.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors offer the best views; one-bedroom suites have really nice big balconies.
