“What the room and bed lacked the service made up for...”
Reviewed 21 June 2010

For the price and the location you could not beat this hotel, however the loft suites were very non-user friendly you had to crawl over the one side of the bed to get to the other and the bed I am sure was 20 years old as it sloped to the middle. The pillows were so stiff you had to sleep without a pillow or else your head was crinked forward. Very noisy outside until about 4am. The service and cleanilessness was very good the hotel staff very friendly and when you phoned for room service they were there immediately with whatever you had requested. The location was ideal for walking and being central to everything. So if you do not need any sleep and are looking for price point this would be a good call. Would not stay here again though based on the sleep quality.

The location is great being on the Stroll and in the center of activity, but is not appreciated when you are trying to sleep and you are woken up by the energetic yelling outside. There are rooms that are on the opposite "quieter" side of the building that I would ask for if I were to stay again. Otherwards, the rooms were clean and comfortable and being in a loft was a neat experience. Expect the lobby to be a desk and 2 chairs in the corner. Parking is only $15.00/night which for Whistler is pretty good. If you have trouble with stairs- do not get a room on the 1/2 floor

My expectations were for a nice couple of days exploring the Village and having a nice place to return to. The building itself was clean and after you became accustomed to the layout, stairs and turns... getting around wasn't difficult. The problem was the smell of the fireplace everytime you walked in the room. It was, at times enough to take your breath away. Luckily we didn't spend too much time in the room.
We were just not impressed and will find other accomodation next time.

The only plus of this hotel are location and room quality. Other than that, it won't work for families with young children. Rooms are insanely small (have to turn sideways to get into bathroom because of toilet stopping door), stairs are very steep with children and the lofts would make any parent with a toddler or child insane with worry (they look right over the living room, but the bed is pushed up against the wall, so any child could look over easily). If you are going with a group, there is no living room area for people to visit, and in the studio/hotel room, there is not enough room to even put up a pack and play.

There are no luggage carts, so if you are travelling with gear you have to make several trips. You can hear everything whether you are on the alley side or the village side, and most of our friends had to purchase earplugs the second night to sleep. The other downside is that toddlers/children can open the door even if its deadbolted, so you might be constantly chasing them...

For a couple with no children and no real gear, it might be a good choice.

This place had everthing you could want - comfortable bed, great shower, kitchenette and a view out of this world. Spottlessly clean with very helpful staff. We could not have asked for anything better. Would we stay there again? YES!!!! The next time we go back to Whistler, that'll be our home base. We were less than 100 steps to everything we wanted to see and do. Keep up the good work.

We have stayed at a few different places in Whistler. TheExecutive Inn is one of the better places if you are after something basic in the heart of downtown. Again this place is nothing fancy. We had a clean room with kitchenette with a balcony that looked out into the heart of village stroll. The hotel is in a great location just minutes from the base gondolas. They have a secure ski room downstairs which is very secure so leaving your ski stuff there made it very easy to get to the lifts from your room in a few minutes (not even 5 minutes walking). They also have pay parking which is first come first serve. We were lucky and were able to get a paid parking spot. If we did not we would have had to park our car across the street at the outside overnight parking lot.

Just like any place right along village stroll you will hear the people at night so bring ear plugs. We were there for St.Patrick's day, and I had ear plugs in knowing that it may get quite loud. I slept fine but understand that without earplugs, you might have a bad experience.

The person working there had said that they just renovated the rooms, before the 2010 Olympics, and at the same time fixed the elevator; so all the earlier reviews with the elevator not working; it now works.

The is definite downside to this hotel which is HUGE. They don't have a spa, sauna or pool, so if you are thinking of relaxing in a hot tub after a day on the slopes, then you are out of luck. Also they do not have a business center for wireless internet. We did not ask about paying for internet either, so not sure if they offer wireless or not.

We stayed there while under major renos (new elevator) and it was still a disappointment. Unfinished room should not have been let. When asking for a hair dryer, non available. Typical of many service issues. An e-mail to the manager after our stay with constructive criticism elicited no reply. They have some unerstandable serious challenges prior to the Olympics and must learn how to deal with their customers.
