“Clean + friendly and helpful staff...”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

This was my second year in a row staying at the Pinnacle for a few days of mountain biking. The hotel was nice and clean, parking was reasonable, the staff was friendly/helpful and it's great having an in-room kitchen. Not much else to say, other than I'm sure I will stay there again next year!

Great location, not too far from the village action but quiet at night. This is the second time we have stayed here, rooms are always nicely appointed and clean and staff helpful and polite. There are two excellent restaurants on-site, so you don't need to leave the hotel if you don't want to (and with a spa tub in the room who wants to?) Special thanks to the manager who handled our reservation and special requests personally; everything was perfect. We'll be back next year, best value in Whistler, with no compromise on quality.

Chose The Pinnacle for its really good location in Whistler Village, and for a very good ALLIN promotion rate which included parking. Although just a short stroll from the busy Village Stroll, the hotel itself was in a quieter spot.

Our room, just over Quattro restaurant, looking towards the mountains (so no road in front,) was quiet during the night. In the morning we heard construction noise somewhere outside in the Village, but closing the sliding door provided good soundproofing. It would have been nice to have a screen door.

The Pinnacle offers whirlpool baths, a great feature, but when someone in the room above operated their tub it was extremely loud. Fortunately for us it didn’t last long and finished before 11.30pm. We also turned the refrigerator off at night because it was quite noisy.

Room itself, a standard studio, was very nice – clean, well appointed, bed a little softer but still very comfortable for us, good kitchen, everything worked well, and good air conditioning.

The hot tub was good enough, although quite shallow and with a strong smell of bleach. The pool was a nice temperature, but very small so not able to accommodate easily a lot of people.

Parking - a good number of stalls which were plenty big enough for our Toyota Camry.

Finally, just to mention that when using the booking system through the hotel’s web site, it seemed a bit strange and confusing that we were given two reservation confirmation numbers. It was explained: “The first number you received was just our website reference number for your reservation. Your actual reservation number is the second number you received by e-mail.” Think it would be more efficient to issue just one number.

All in all we enjoyed a very good overnight stay at The Pinnacle.

Dear KiwiandCanuck,

Glad to read you enjoyed your stay. I apologize for the in room items you mentioned and we will address with our maintenance team.

Regarding the website booking engine, both reservation id's will locate your booking. We mearly describe it this way so a person would understand why there are two different numbers. the Website inputs the reservation into our property management system but isn't able to send the confirmation letter. That comes from our reservation system which is why there are 2 different id numbers. We will look into this with our IT team but it seems to just be a way in which the system is interfaced.

Look forward to your next visit!

Sincerely,

Pinnacle Hotel Whistler Management

Very Friendly Staff, nice spacious clean rooms. Hotel has underground secure parking, but if you have a big vehicle it is a bit tricky. Stalls are very small, so I with my big truck had to take two spots, but I did later see Trucks parked in front of the Hotel......so the Hotel is very accommodating. Great prices, great location, very quiet! I do wish the pool would be open at bit longer, it closes at 10pm, would be nice to have a Adult hour from 10 to 11pm, after a long day of fun an evening Hot Tub would be nice. We stayed here 4 years ago, and enjoyed it, came back again, and we are currently planning are next Whistler trip, and will be staying here again! Great Hotel, you won't disappointed.

We had a top floor suite facing the mountain. The heat was unbearable despite opening everything up and running the air conditioning. We spent until 4.45 am trying to cool our suite off enough to be able to sleep. That wrecked the following day as everyone was very tired. By then, my partner had a sore throat from running the air conditioner. I asked for a fan so we wouldn't suffer a second night, but they didn't have one. I thought they would have found or purchased one as they had all day. It's an investment in the hotel, right?

The suite's bedroom had no end tables and no lamps. My father ended up on the deck looking for the bathroom in the night, so we bought a nightlight. The lamp next to the bed didn't work (I tried switching the bulb but...but it was the lamp). The service was extremely nice but they could have bought a fan to try to help us out with the heat. I pulled out the sofa bed but the springs made it impossible to use. Had the couch been a tad longer, I could have slept there but.. So the first night was pretty much hell. The second night was better, but be warned about the heat on the top 4th floor. Screens would be great as mosquitoes but I understand that it's an older building. That said, there might be a way to put a screen on the sliding doors.

My father took a serious tumble out of the second elevator door. I was surprised no one called to see if he was okay, seeing as how we were here for his 82nd birthday, and you know, he's 82, and took a fall. A lady (a fellow guest) warned us to be careful in the elevator, but there should probably be a warning on the 2nd door. No staff member mentioned it. Please put a sign up on the door.

On the good side, the building is very quiet, the water pressure is amazing, and the coffee is amazing. The service is very pleasant and is helpful, but I still had to ask for another set of sheets four times. The extra lamp never showed up. At this point, we are tired and a little disappointed with our stay.

Hotel pretty much as described by others. Nice and spacious rooms. Mattress on the softer side. Very friendly and helpful front desk. Rooms could use refurbishing but really not necessary. Wi-Fi definitely on the low end. Skype was useless. I Mention the a/c issue because I was not sure and some hotels in the area have no a/c. Unit is a little louder than most but perfectly reasonable. Great value. Would definitely stay there again.

We are a family of 3 with a 2 year old and came to Whistler for a wedding in July 2013. We have been in Whistler before but only in the winter and have only stayed in cabins with large groups. This was our first time in a Whistler hotel and thought the room was a bit small compared to other cities, but after hearing complaints by other wedding guests about their rooms in other hotels, we were happy that we booked the Pinnacle. Our room was on the 2nd floor and faced the pool. It was clean and quiet. We had a deck but found it unusual that it was filled with gravel so didn't use it at all.

The only complaint that we have is the parking. The stalls are so small that you have to let all passengers out and unload all your gear before parking and even then it is tough for the driver to get out. We were very unhappy as our car was damaged in the lot and for this reason, we would not stay at this hotel again.

If you are not worried about your car, then I would recommend this hotel. Also, they have a special for the summer through their website where you can get a standard room and parking for $109.
