So, we just got back from a 6 night stay at the Hilton and I am definitely coming back! We had friends staying at the Westin next door and, for the money, we had the better place. They paid $900 more than us for the same duration of stay and, yes, they had a lovelier lobby and nicer handles on their dresser, but that was about it.
We stayed in a King Suite so had our own kitchenette and real fireplace on the top floor. It was a well appointed room, daily cleaning was excellent and it was steps to the slopes. You literally have less than a 30 sec. walk to the Whistler gondola.
The front desk and bell service was excellent (not over the top annoying and not complacent).
Only issue may be the overly eager heating system in the rooms- it was tough to get the temp just right.
Loved the free and easy to access wi-fi and also the fire log daily and great robes/ plentiful towels. Room service was excellent and prompt (best potato leek soup ever!). Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were great as was the heated outdoor pool. The fitness room was modern and also well appointed (worked out twice!)

I have previously stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and, while the rooms there are 'prettier', the huge savings, proximity to hill and village and excellent service way out-do that hotel. I would strongly recommend it.

We just returned from a fabulous stay at this hotel which is perfectly positioned near the main gondola to Whistler mountain and is right in the heart of the village. We stayed in a Whistler Junior Suite and took advantage of the suite's kitchen for all of our meals. The suite itself is a bit dated, but is nice and comfortable. The bathroom is extremely small, but functional. The fireplace was wonderful and we enjoyed our complimentary log each evening. The views from the small balcony overlooking the mountains were just stunning and were probably the best feature of the room. We used the heated pool and jacuzzi. Highly recommend sitting in the outside jacuzzi when it is snowing! Now on to the not so good comments. One word of caution if you like quiet evenings....expect to be kept awake by your neighbors next to you and above you every night of your stay. The walls are very thin and we could hear every movement, banging, doors opening/closing, talking, etc. This was particularly problematic when the people above us would come home in the evenings around midnight and stay up another couple of hours moving about very loudly. Other than this, our stay would have been nearly perfect. Also expect to pay $27/day plus tax for parking. The whole entire Whistler mountain, village, and scenery is just a wonderful, magical place. We can't wait to return one day!

This is such a lovely hotel because the service is so friendly and attentive. All the staff seem to genuinely enjoy helping the customers. Great value for money- we had a self- contained high quality apartment with plenty of white fluffy towels and daily room service, so we could choose to eat in the room, but breakfast was so good we tended to go down and enjoy it- and again the breakfast staff bend over backwards to look after you. A great way to start a day's skiing. The spa is really good too; we used the outside pool, and inside jacuzzi and sauna most days after skiing, and the gym on the days we didn't go out. Also the hotel is so perfectly located in the heart of the village and next to the ski lifts. And Whistler is such a great resort. We've skied a lot of places but nowhere as good as Whistler for extensive skiing and good village atmosphere with plenty of nice restaurants- the one in the Hilton included. This hotel is definitely going to become a regular for us! Thanks to all the staff who gave us such a great holiday!

We stayed at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa for one night in Jan 2011 and paid US$334. The location of the hotel was great as it was located directly in Whistler village and just a short walk to the Gondolas. Check-in was smooth and Gordon the reception staff was very friendly and welcoming. He saw to it that we got another room on the spot as the one allocated to us hadn’t been cleaned yet. The lobby was very cosy and had a nice fireplace.

Our room was located on the 5th floor. It was large and spacious. The interior design was ok, not modern but was cosy. The view of our room looked down on to the driveway entrance of the hotel, nothing spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but clean and adequate, and stocked with crabtree & evelyn products. There was a separate sink area in the bedroom.

The concierge was extremely helpful and professional, tailoring activities that suited us. This was a nice touch as they didn’t just read off information without thinking about the guest. Their recommendations of restaurants was also great.
We only stayed at the hotel for 1 night so can’t really comment much. Overall I would give it an 8 out of 10 for a four star hotel.

Enjoyed 4 nights at this particular hotel. Wonderful location to restaurants and ski lifts/gondola. Jr. suite w/kitchenette was wonderful for lunches or lite breakfast if you didn't eat at the buffet. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside is the outrageous parking fees and basically have to use bell cap or carry your own luggage. No carts are provided for doing it yourself.

We were there for 6 days from 12/26 to 1/1/2011, and had a great time.

The staff there were terrific. My kids were not feeling well for the first couple of days and the kitchenette which was comprised of a 2 burner stove was quite useful. We were able to cook canned soups and even made spaghetti one night. It was both convient and cost saving.

Bar downstairs allowed the teens in until 8pm to play pool, backgammon, and checkers which was fun for the teens as well.

I used points for this stay, and was upgraded to the Junior suite which was clean. Whenever we had an issue, it was addressed promptly.

Concierge did a good job of recommending restaurants and making reservations. However finding something to do on New Years eve was problematic. We ended up staying in the room and going to sleep early.

Only issue with the hotel was the ski check. The Westin, Four Seasons and a number of other hotels has the ski check right off the gondala. The Hilton has the ski check in the Summit Rental shop. Where you have to go down a flight of stairs with your skis which is a pain.

This was our first trip to Canada, put together at the last minute so we were quite glad at the way it all turned out. There was a bit of a hic-up at the start as the online booking system totally messed up our booking, but that soon was sorted out (including credits etc.). If you book online, make sure you get an email confirmation so you can check.

The shuttle bus door to door drop off and pickup from/to airport/Vancouver was a big plus for us as we didn't really know how to get around. On arrival, the hotel is 'pleasant' with a warm ambience, the staff is efficient, and the room (with kitchenette) meet our expectation for the entire stay (12 nights).

Then came the time to start skiing, this is where we thought the hotel really excelled. Location, location, location. The village gondola and village stroll is virtually on the hotel door steps, and there's arrangement in place for guest to store skis at the Summit ski shop. I would say this is as good a ski-in, ski-out experience as one can get at whistler, plus the convenience of being right in the heart of Whistler village. All the restaurants and shops and nearby, The entire experience was exceptional.

We liked what's on offer for breakfast, but thought dinner was a little boring so didn't spend much time in the hotel restaurant for dinner. Besides the competition is intense in the village with food quality generally excellent.

We're typically repeat customers, i.e. if we like something, we'll return, so as far as comparison, and whether we could have done any better, I would say we'll definitely return to the Hilton Whistler.
