“Whistler premier -read the fine print !”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

I went to Whistler to visit my daughter and booked the hotel and flight through Hotwire, which saved me some money . I booked what I thought was a room in a lodge in the village of Whistler although it was listed as Whistler Premier accommodation. Apparently there are numerous Whistler Premier hotels and you are not necessarily in the heart of the village, although that is where you book in at the Blackcomb Lodge.

I took a bus from Vancouver airport to Whistler, which drops you off right at the lodge. After checking in , I was advised that I was booked into Lost Lake Lodge , which is not within walking distance if you have bags ! Luckily I was able to get a ride to the Lodge , which is in what is considered the Upper Village, although there are free shuttle buses that run about every 10-15 minutes so if you didn't have a ride or didn't want to take a taxi, you could hop on a bus. My advice is to book into the Lower village if you don't have a car , although I must say that the shuttle bus system is quite good and I used it all week.

Lost Lake Lodge was quite nice, very quiet and although it advertised a pool and hot tub outside, the hot tub was not working . This was at the beginning of April and considered to be low season so that may explain the tub not being open and no staffing at the front desk .

The accommodation was exactly as advertised, a one bedroom condo with full kitchen , balcony with gas barbeque , gas fireplace, washer and dryer and a pull out bed in the living room . Very nice and clean and perfect for my daughter and me to share. The shuttle bus was just outside the lodge so getting around with ski equipment was quite easy . All in all a pretty nice place to stay with Lost Lake steps away for hiking and trails.

Nice living room / kitchen combination with gas fireplace. Huge balcony with propane grill. One bedroom with attached bathroom, the other bathroom off the hallway in the entry area.
No service available, but this was clear and expected as indicated on website. Washing machine dryer combination in 2. bathroom was helpful. Kitchen equipment more than enough. The location is quite remote, but the frequent operating free bus shuttle makes it connected to the downtown. Quiet nights. Parking would have been expensive, but we had no car :-)
It appeared all to be in a good maintained condition.

Nice rooms, very clean and spacious, great outdoor pool and hot tub. Free shuttle comes by often which is convenient and easy to take to the hill. We did find it a little frustrating that there never seemed to be anyone working at the front desk of the lodge. Also a bit disappointing that there was no parking included so we had to pay $20 per day to park our vehicle or were promised to be "towed in a flash."

Quiet hotel, convenient location, though expensive underground parking. Simple but clean room, washer & drier in unit, full kitchenette. Outside hot tub. Free locker for skis/snowboards on first level. Free shuttle to the slopes. 2 mins drive from grocery store, stores and restaurants.

#1 overpriced have stayed in the village for the same amount of money in an actual hotel room
#2 Room very out dated hard bed, scuffed furniture, small space
#3 no housekeeping, for everything, normal hotel services, they charge extra or give you attitude about it. Things like extra garbage bags, towels bed linings and so on...
#4 front desk is 1.2 miles away so if your card to get in to your room does not work its a 30 minute plus bus ride and wait to get it fixed
#5 you do not in any way get yours moneys worth

SO PLEASE AVOID THE HASSLE STAY ELSEWHERE!

We got this hotel as part of a two night vacation package; and we didn't get to pick the actual hotel.

First thing to note; is that this hotel is far away from the village, so you need to either drive or take the bus for everything. Parking is $20 for a 24 hour period; and the spaces are VERY tight. In fact, most vehicles I saw were taking more than one space.

Once inside, we noticed was that the "down arrow" on the elevator was broken; and you could see the inside.

The hotel looks quite dated. The room is spacious; and the distribution is nice. Ours had a nice balcony with a couple of plastic chairs and a table. We didn't get to use it since it was quite cold during our stay.

It was dirty. For some reason there was hair everywhere from the stove to the bathroom. So although there was a full kitchen; we didn't want to use anything there, because it just seemed dirty.

The master's bathroom doorknob was broken; so we didn't close it because it may not open.

Beds were very uncomfortable; and one of my kids ended up sleeping on the couch because she couldn't take it much longer.

All in all, I wouldn't stay here again, or recommend this place to anyone. While we would be willing to deal with the location limitation; the lack of cleanliness we just can't handle.

This is out 3rd time at Lost Lake Lodge and it seems to have gone downhill - definitely showing its wear. But, the thing that makes me rate it low is that we are here for 7 nights and they have give us supplies for 2 nights. After that, you have to pay for more toilet paper, soap, shampoo, plastic garbage bags, dishwasher liquid, etc. so be advised to bring your own supplies. Also, guest parking is $20/day. We got a good price on the room for before Christmas but you pay in other ways. It seems that if you're paying for a week, you should get a week's supply of the basics. If never seen this kind of thing before. Leaves a very bad impression. Customer service is key to people returning and they have missed the boat here.

Room Tip: room facing pool instead of front door

Hi my name is Dave Mitchell and I am the Guest Experience Manager for The Lost Lake Lodge. Our guests should not be asked to pay for any of the extra amenities that you requested for your week long stay and I agree that for a stay of such length your unit should have been well provided for.. I would love to discuss the matter if possible. You can reach me at 604-932-4144 or 1-888-621-1177 Wednesday through Sunday.
