“A great find!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2012

We have been to Whistler many times but only recently discovered this eatery/supermarket. I was pleasantly surprised with a few things:
- very good quality Japanese food (sushi, maki rolls, curry, rice, noodles, bento boxes etc.) at excellent prices, especially for Whistler;
- option to eat in or take out; their tables are set up for two people but with larger groups during dinnertime, one can go next door to Harajuku Izakaya which has a more extensive menu and space (e.g. tatami rooms plus tables);
- friendly staff;
- cool decor;
- 50% off all sushi and donburi after 9 pm every day;
- well-stocked shelves and freezer compartments (in the supermarket) of Japanese/Asian staples (lots of varieties); check their Facebook page to a gallery of photos http://www.facebook.com/fujimarket/photos_stream

This is a great place to dine when craving for Japanese fare or to grab some great-value sushi/donburi if in a hurry. Being next door to the Whistler Convention Centre, while it is not in the main Village it is not that far away or remote to find. Definitely worth the walk of few more steps to check this place out.

We will definitely be back and look forward to trying their adjoining restaurant, Harajuku Izakaya (opens 5 pm).

“go early”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

worth the walk to the far side of the village. Go early to get the best selection of pre packaged sushi, or if you don't mind waiting, place your order in this neat little shop.

“Delicious hot noodles!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2012

This quirky Japanese restaurant & supermarket is tucked out of the way, and took some finding. But we are so glad we persisted because the food is just delicious and so reasonable for Whistler. We loved the huge bowls of steaming ramen noodles and rice with chicken teriyaki. The boxes of sushi and sashimi from the counter were a nice complement to our meal. We went there twice, once for lunch and another for dinner. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for authentic Japanese food at a reasonable price.

I never sit down in the restaurant I usually just buy whatever looks good from the cooler... the Yam/Sweet Potato roll is the best option by far!
