“Great location, great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2013

We stayed here for 5 nights during the ski season (late Jan) and had a terrific stay. As noted by other reviewers, there can be some noise - as has been the case with any ski hotel I've stayed in. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful with everything from restaurant recommendations to allowing us to leave our car parked and our luggage checked w/them while we went up on the mountain after we checked out.

I stayed here for 5 nights and loved staying at the Aava. The staff are by far the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. I had a small issue with my bathroom door handle but that got fixed quickly and efficiently as promised- no complaints here. I stayed in a double queen room on the 4th floor. The room was very clean and welcoming and also had a vaulted ceiling. Beds were comfortable especially after a whole day of skiing. Bathroom was also very clean and modern and the shower had a big rain shower head. The location of this hotel is truly unbeatable, it is a 5 minute walk to the gondola but there is no noise at 3am from crowds of partying teens at Aava because it is not directly on the village stroll (across the road). The hot tub and pool is a big plus. The hot tub is very warm and can get a bit crowded but this is understandable since I wasn't the only one tired after skiing. This hotel beats all of the hotels in whistler (in my opinion) because of the rooms, amenities, location and value. I am definetley staying again in this hotel. Would highly recommend to everyone coming to Whistler, looking for an amazing spot to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor of the west wing, overlooking the golf course.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Aava for 2 weeks over the new year period. We found the room to be very comfortable and quiet, the staff very helpful and it was generally good value for money. A big bonus was the pool area out the back which has a spa, sauna and a heated pool which was warm enough to swim in even on the coldest days. The hotel also offered the free use of a Go-Pro camera which was an unexpected bonus. The only thing we missed was the lack of Kitchenette which would have been useful given the time we spent in Whistler.

Hotel is OK but a bit of a trek from the slopes (if skiing).Jacuzzi is a bit small and was only luke warm when i went in and the pool was quite cool.It looked as if the bar was in the hotel but it was over the road in the White Spot restaurant - so if it was quiet at night , they would shut and you couldn't get a drink. Staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful and the rooms were very clean and well looked after but lacked hot water during the busy periods.I would only say 3* and not 4*

Excellent hotel, the front desk staff were amazing and it made our trip!!

We visited Whistler on our North America tour and the aava was hands down our favourite hotel.

The room was comfortable and the vibe in general was just what we were looking for. The guys on the front desk will give you the insider knowledge to all the best runs, and they will even lend you a complimentary go pro to film it on!

The aava is a really great choice at a great price.

I would not stay at this Hotel again especially over the busy Christmas period. It is marketed as a 4 star hotel but is really only 3 star standard. The Hotel has no restaurant, the lobby was nothing special and for 4 days between 27 December 2012 and 1 January 2013, there was no hot water at night!!!! This in my view is completely unacceptable. When I asked to speak to the manager I got no response. Signs simply went up in the lifts saying to minimise hot water use in this busy time. Wi Fi was also slow or did not work (again due to hotel being busy apparently) and rooms were noisy. There was also no washing facilities in the hotel only dryers. When I asked I was told to wash my clothes in the bath. There are better options for $350 - $400 per night hotel. I have stayed in alot of Whistler Hotels and would not stay here again. This was a great hotel to relax and enjoy Whistler while the rest of the family snowboarded. The view from the room was breathtaking especially when the snow was falling gently. The gym facilities were clean and well equipped. The pool and hot tub were large and clean at all times. It was a 5 minute walk into the village for shopping and lifts. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate your needs. They were very helpful in making reservations for you and there were menus of many restaurants in Whistler to look at. Loved that it had a fridge so I could have breakfast and lunch in my room if I wanted to. I would definitely stay there again.
