“lovely hotel - looking forward to returning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

I stayed two nights at the Aava Hotel mid January. I was pleasantly surprised right from the moment of my arrival. I was met by courteous smiling staff right at my car and escorted to check in which was quick and very easy. The room was tastefully decorated, had lovely high ceilings and views of the mountains ski hills... not to mention was very clean and had a well lit modern bathroom. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. I was lucky to have the pleasure of meeting the manager who had some incredible restaurant suggestions!! The hotel is in a great location, just steps from shopping and incredible food. After enjoying an evening out it was very nice returning to the hotels extremely comfortable beds and quiet environment. Unfortunately, I was too busy enjoying everything else in Whistler to have a chance to experience the hotels pool/hot tub but will definitely do so on my second visit.
I have stayed at many hotels around the world and I can easily say my experience at the Aava Hotel was wonderful. I will definitely be back- can’t wait!

For 10 days of our holiday booked through Crystal holidays we had no snow, but we were able to ski, thanks to the good job Whistler/Blackcomb do to prepare the mountain
But our holiday experiance, was made better by the clean, comfortable modern hotel, were the all the staff greeted the hotel guests with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Our boots and gloves were taken after a days skiing and dried free of charge for the next day, this and the free use of go pro cameras,to film your skiing on the slopes. And all this with free safe and fridge, bath robes,a shower that was easy to use, with plenty of hot water.
The room had two Queen beds which were ever so comfortable, which made for a very good nights sleep. Also the hotel has a swimming pool and hot tub and gym facilities.
All this and close to the village of Whistler and the gondolas and chair lifts.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel,or stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: We had room 360 on the east wing

Great customer service, nice facilities, pool, sauna & hot tub with a view. Very close to village.. Very helpful and considerate staff. Would be nice to have a breakfast service, but unfortunately they have no kitchen or restaurant. But you're so close to village that you'd barely notice.

Close to gondolas and chair lifts. Very close to restaurants and shops. Good area for storing ski gear. Stayed in a two bedroom suite. Large, lots of room. TVs in all three rooms. Modern washrooms and decor. Whistler is expensive and the hotel was no exception. We had a lot of fun staying in Whistler and at this hotel for four nights.

This hotel is right at the entrance to Whistler village and the proximity to the village centre (less than 5 min walk) makes it a good value choice. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with small fridge, safe and robes. Honestly I didn't expect robes at a 3.5 star hotel but there they were...nice & soft too! The hotel is planning on opening a restaurant across the lane so that will be welcome as there is nothing onsite as far as room service, bar or a snack shop, just snack machines. Everyone seems to comment on the pool and hot tub and I'm going to do the same. What is with the floodlights? Not a relaxing light. Ever. Aava, if you changed that and covered the rolled up blue pool cover with a weatherproof fabric, hiding it while people are at the pool that would make all the difference to the look and feel of this area. Other than that a very solid choice in Whistler.

Not ridiculously over the top - real modern day boutique ski hotel experience. No need for anything more. Pool is a bit small but the room made up for the slightest deficiency in teh facilities. Great staff - extremely friendly and personable.
