“Girlfriend Long Weekend Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

Stayed in the Aava Whistler for three nights over the May long weekend. The hotel is located on the edge of the village beside the Whistler Golf Club. Very convenient, walk through the parking lot, across the street up the steps or ramp and you're right on the Village Stroll. Just far enough away to be nice and quiet but close enough to enjoy everything going on in the village. Check in was quick and easy, they have facilities for bike storage and minor maintenance if you're in Whistler for some mountain biking, there also looked to be ski storage downstairs.

The double room was nicely appointed, the bar fridge and safe were nice touches. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, best I've found in a hotel. Bathroom was gorgeous, I'd love to have a bathroom like that at home, the shower could have used a bit more pressure though, the rainhead was okay but it took a while to rinse the shampoo out. Aveda bath goodies were a nice touch and the towels were soft and fluffy, not your typical hard hotel towels.

The pool and hot tub area outside is pleasant, there are comfy seating areas and a number of loungers. The pool is a bit on the small side, but there were kids having a blast paddling around while we were enjoying the hot tub.

There is a bit of noise, but nothing out of the ordinary, no more than you would hear in any hotel. I was actually pleasantly surprised, there was an adjoining door in our room but we never heard any noise from either of the rooms next door. The only sounds came from people in the hallway or walking up above.

I would definitely stay at the Aava Whistler again.

Room Tip: Not a room tip, but if you check in on FourSquare there is a free parking offer.

Stayed here for one night on a tour. Would have liked to stay longer. 2 minute walk to the village and about 7 mins from ski lifts. Well laid out room, big bed, shower over bath, looks modern fitted room.
Small gym and outdoor pool and hot tub

We stayed here in mid-May. We easily found the hotel, the front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming. Our room had a king bed, fridge and was very spacious. The robes and slippers were a nice touch! Our room faced the mountains with the pool and golf green within our view out the window (sadly it would have been nice to have a balcony). It was very clean and quiet (although I found out later we were the only people on our floor). We were easily within walking distance to the village and seeing everything we wanted to see (literally 5 min walk to any restaurant and shops we wanted to visit). Parking was an extra charge, but it was right below the hotel, so it was easy to get to. We booked the Ziptrek combination room deal with the hotel and would recommend this to anyone who always wanted to ziplining! We would stay here again!

If you enjoy Whistler Village, this is a great location because you only need to walk across the street. If you like golfing and cycling, this is a great location because you only need to go through the short tunnel under the Sea to Sky Highway. We had a great walk from there. There are many easy trails and many are around the lakes with great view.

The hotel is not new but the room appears to have been renovated. It is basically a help yourself hotel. There is no fancy lobby or restaurant. A little bit smelly in the basement where ski lockers and entrance to the parking lot are. Noise from the hallway and the pool sure can penetrate into the room. Service is not bad and the price is reasonable considering it is in a popular resort area.

When we checked in we were given keys to an already occupied room (this happened to 2 other guests that we knew that day). The walls are so thin we could hear conversations next door. Bed was comfy which helped offset the noise that you get when in Whistler

friendly and helpful staff, great recommendation for breakfast ("the Irish Pub"); clean hotel, great amenities and excellent location. I would not hesitate to stay at the Aava on my future travel to Whistler.
