“Location & service good; amenities lackluster.”

The spa/pool area is totally antiquated & needs a remodel. In fact, the jacuzzi temperature was lukewarm and suited for an infant. The noteworthy thing about the hotel room was that they jammed a tv in a cabinet so tight that it was immovable. It seems like the owners of the hotel know that they have a great location & are kind of like nouveau-rich slumlords. The bright spot was the front desk staff. In particular, Jacqueline & Mim who pointed our group in the right direction at all times. I would stay there again because of the service & location.

Full disclosure - We have skied at Whistler-Blackcomb for over 15 years. This was out fifth visit to the Blackcomb Lodge. This year, we all agreed that the BCL is really a bit rundown. Our studio room (with loft) was clean, but a bit faded, old carpets and cabinets. The rooms have a very mold musty smell. Each year, the walls seem to get thinner - not much sound insulation. The rooms were cleaned at about 5pm, so go to a bar after skiing. Normally, we are all about skiing and going out for great food, but we decided that its time to look for nicer accommodations. The hot tub and pool are charm free. The only redeeming quality is its location. It nice to get out of bed and have a short walk to the gondola. Would we stay here again, probably not (unless nothing else was available). Its time to find nicer and a bit more modern or renovated condo, although we will always have fond memories of BCL.

Room Tip: Top floor is a bit more quiet.

Our family of five stayed at Blackcomb Lodge between Christmas and New Year's. We made our plans late, and it was no coincidence that Blackcomb Lodge was the only place available in Whistler Village. No one in their right mind would charge $800 per night for the loft room we had (and no one in their right mind would pay it) except that people will pay whatever it takes to stay in the village at Christmas (including us it seems) and the owners of Blackcomb Lodge know it. There is virtually no service at the hotel. Our room was not even made up until our third day, and only when we insisted - and watched - the housekeeping staff go into the room as we left for skiing. When we came back, they had merely pulled up the covers and emptied the garbage. The bathroom was not cleaned at any time during our four days. While we understand that the hotel was completely full during the Christmas season, that is no excuse when you double the regular rates. All of the pillows in the hotel smelled like they had come from frat house dorm rooms. We asked for ours to be replaced twice and each time we got that stale unwashed smell. Let's see - what else? There was a series of stains on the wall going up to the loft, the elevators rarely responded, and the desk staff often had little idea what was going on. In summary, this is a very basic hotel that costs far too much. It is too bad that the popularity of Whistler and the hotel's prime location allow it to gouge its customers.

Stayed here one weeknight in December, was a last-minute deal. For the price we paid, it was fine, but definitely a few issues. The location was great, the staff was friendly and responsive, the size of the room was great with the little kitchen & sofa, and we were able to check in a bit early with no problem.

However, we requested a king bed and got two singles - took several hours for someone to come and fix this (they push the beds together and do a king/split apparently rather than have separate rooms with different beds.) This was okay, though you could feel the spot where the beds go together. The wifi was so slow it could barely be considered working and I ended up tethering my ipad to my iphone most of the time we used it. The hot tub was lukewarm at best even with the jets going for a bit (probably the biggest disappointment for me). And, it is right beside Maxx Fish nightclub which blared music all night. Normally a bit of noise is no big deal for us and I assumed other people who said it was noisy were exaggerating - but this felt like we were standing at the door of the club even with all windows and doors closed. Took forever to fall asleep.

Definitely room for improvement here. Would only recommend if you can get it for a cheap last-minute price & know exactly what to expect. And bring earplugs.

We went for a ten day ski trip, had a fab room for the two of us, had extra large bed, kitchenette and an upstairs loft plus settee etc, so more than enough room for two. Good location right in the middle of whistler, easy access for everything. Had a small pool but enough for a chill out in. We always ate out as was so near to everything. My only complaint would be the noisy guests opposite our room, very loud, but I expected some noise, but I don't think we were the only ones effected as they were told by the staff to be quiet, and it wasn't me that complained :-) overall really pleased and would stay there again, good location, didn't have to deal with the staff, we were more than happy. Overall Whistler was amazing. Loved every minute.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When checking in they asked if I wanted to be in a room facing onto the pedestrian walkway which was noisy or did I want a quiet room away from the noisy. I was thrilled to have a room on the pedestrian walkway. A large suite that 4 would be very comfortable in. All the amenities in the kitchen including a dishwasher!!
It was fall! A weekend with lots of tourists, strolling past my balcony everyone in a happy, jolly mood. There were lots of smiles on everyone's face, the young and old included.
The village is a vibrant place to visit, walk, stroll, with lots of shops to visit, incredible choice of restaurants from gourmet meals to quick stops. Not to mention a quick walk down the street and you are right in the middle of the forest with lots of trail to saunter along and enjoy 'Mother Nature'.
The Blackcomb has a hot tub and swimming pool. Indoor parking for the winter months. Very close to 2 of the major ski lifts. Right beside the tourist information centre.
Hotel staff were helpful in getting me around town; on my way back to Vancouver and accommodations there. Truly a wonderful stay in a great hotel and wonderful area.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask to have a balcony on the Pedestrian Walkway if you want to feel alive and "be...

The hotel has a very convenient location right in the middle of the village, however this was also it's downfall, our room was a very small corner room which was near enough directly above Tommy Africa's nightclub which was open until the very early hours of the morning and made it next to impossible to get any sleep.

Although the price was very good (for Whistler during a very busy weekend) it would have been worth paying a little extra to stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Avoid corner rooms as they are very small.
