“great base for Whistler upper village”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2010

Arrived in 32c heatwave and had read in introductory email about ther being no check-in/front desk- they were right!....except a helpful man appeared out of the office and showed us where everything was. Well placed for Upper village - a bit far to walk to chairlifts , dressed in full gear.
Property itself was as described and was very clean- ensuite in master was a bonus. Beds were fine but could do with propoer blackout curtains. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc .

My friends and I stayed here in May for my bachelorette and, while the place itself was fine, we received terrible treatment from their on-contract security firm and from management.

We had heard this hotel was a popular party spot. That clearly was not the case as security was completely intolerant and heavy-handed. We are all professionals in our mid-thirties so it was not like we were having a wild party - just some laughter from the hot tub and some music. Unfortunately, because the condos are set around a courtyard, noise travels so you have to be absolutely quiet all the time or risk the wrath of security. We ended up getting noise complaints and actually got evicted - the first time any of us have have ever been evicted from any location in our lives. (We had to find another hotel).

As soon as we got back, we discovered that the hotel had charged our credit card $500 -we were told this was "in anticipation of possible damages". This is on top of the $500 damage deposit we had already paid when we booked the place - so that is $1,000 in damage deposits which we were told would soon be refunded, as soon as they completed the inspection.

Weeks go by and the charges are not removed. So, with $1000 in damages now on our credit card, we asked them to send us proof of any damages we had caused. That started off a seven week struggle with them in order to get their staff to send us invoices and documentation on the so-called damages. When we finally got them, they included a slew of ridiculous security fees and regular maintenance tasks such as "removing paint cans from closet", and "oiling shower door" which anyone with could see had nothing at all to do with our stay, and everything to do with them scouring the place for any little thing that was out of place, and then getting it fixed and charging it all to us. This charge was, of course, in addition to the $1300+ we had paid for the place, since of course they did not refund us for the night we did not stay there due to the eviction.

We tried to resolve the issue with the damage deposits with them, but ResortQuest staff were completely disorganized and never got back to us. When we tried to call them, we were told to not call them and only to email - but when we would email, noone would call us back. When we finally got through to someone, they told us person X was dealing with it and transferred us to someone else. When we spoke to person X, they had no knowledge of our request and would send us around in circles to other people. We finally gave up because we were so fed up with dealing with them and we knew small claims court was our only option. All told, with the extra charges they added on, we paid $2300+ for one night at this place.

Totally unprofessional management, completely unreasonable security staff, and a complete rip off. I would never recommend this place or any places that Resort Quest operates to anyone I know.

We just came back from five days at Whistler; we are two adults and two kids (10 and 8 years old). Trevor recommended unit #45 to us because it is on the back side away from the common pool - nice & quiet. The townhouse was spacious, although storage space for skiing gear is very limited. The two bedrooms are of decent size, clean, and the bathrooms were nice. Overall this is a great unit, great location (close to village stroll, bus stops, and lift) but at $275/night it seemed a bit pricey.

My husband and I stayed at 95 Glacier's Reach and had a great time. We first found it on www.vrbo.com and selected it after reading a positive review and corresponding with the friendly and professional owner. The unit comfortably sleeps two and was very clean and well maintained. It was perfect for our week long stay.
We loved the unique layout...
1st floor: Small mud area for skis and boots.
2nd floor: Well supplied kitchen and living area, including kitchen table, comfortable leather couch (pull out), gas fireplace, and large TV w/ DVD player. Sliding door leading to a porch with grill.
3rd floor: Full bathroom with jetted tub, hairdryer. Stacked washer/dryer, and bedroom with flat screen TV. Sliding door off the bedroom leading to the outdoor covered private hot tub. Hot tub is above the ground with beautiful mountain views. Important to note that some units at Glacier's Reach have hot tubs on the ground floor without mountain views or privacy.
Other: Wireless internet service in the unit. Shuttle stop right across the street from the complex, or walk through the village to the lifts in 15 minutes. Within two minutes of the complex is the MarketPlace, which conveniently has a grocery store, liquor store, drug store, Starbucks, and some retail shops. Once you walk through the MarketPlace, you’re in the village, with restaurants, bars, and retail shops, on the way to the lifts. Glacier's Reach is convenient to the village without the late night noise. Highly recommend #95.

thanks for a great vacation launching pad, trevor! we stayed in 103 and loved that there is a common pool and hot tub, along with a private hot tub for each unit. It was nice to have a second story "townhouse" unit, if nothing else than for the privacy of the hot tub on the outdoor deck. We loved being able to walk across the street to the Village Stroll and less than ten minutes walk to the lifts with our 'boards.

We stayed here in mid December and found the location more than suitable. The Marketplace over the road has a great choice of shops, supermarket and drug store as well as eating places, and walking distance to the main shopping areas. Even better was the bus stop for the free ski shuttle just over the road too. It was convenient and easy to stay here, and I suspect, quieter (and definitely cheaper) than in the base area for the ski fields.
We had more than enough space for our family of 4 with an 18 & 20 year old. The adults could escape upstairs to our own room or socialise with the kids, enjoy the hot tub, cook in the kitchen or watch one of the 3 TV's. We did not really notice noisy neighbours, only once when one had their hot tub running. The most nuisance noise was from the snow removal trucks and machinery who started in the parking lot across the road at 4.30 am!
Views out to the road and up the mountain were amazing, and the place was more than warm enough. Plenty of resort amenities that we didn't use, but I can see this would be a great place to stay year round.
We booked direct with owners who were easy to deal with.

We stayed in September, so although this is a ground-floor condo, we never really saw anyone. It helps that its in the far corner, so nobody really had any reason to walk by. The condo itself was quite nice, the hot tub warm and a great treat, and a comfy bed. My only criticism is that it is slightly run down, and what I mean by that is a poor flooring job, poor paint job. That is really only me being very-critical though, the kitchen was modern, and everything was clean. The flatscreen TV, Wireless Internet were great! I would definitely recommend this place, the owners were great to deal with, and Whistler is an amazing place to visit!

As far as noise goes, this wasn't a problem, but it was also the deadest it gets at Whistler, and not all the rooms were rented out.
