having stayed in whistler before, the location, the view, the amenities and the cleanliness of this hotel was incredible. we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with an unobstructed view of both blackcomb and whistler. the rooms are modern and cozy. the ability to have a full kitchen makes it a larger bonus for families to avoid the high cost of eating out, and they supply dishes and detergent etc. while it did not have a pool, for us this was a non-issue, the setting, the location trumped anything having to do with a pool....the cost to park was 20/night (indoor) but the price point for the beautiful room completely evened the charge. take the time and enjoy this beautiful hotel !! we will be back, and this will be where we come again.....!!

We stayed at the sundail boutique for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. Our suite was fantastic with great views over the blackcomb mountain. The rooms were well appointed and modern. You could hear the bars a little in the evening but not enough to disturb us. We didn't use the hotel's facilities during our stay (restaurant, bar, hot tub). A great stay and we would return.

We chose this property because of the excellent ratings. We found that the two room suites were perfect. I recommend booking early enough to get your own spa. The roof-top unit is inconvenient. If you like to check your own skis, consider the Pan Pacific Mountainside- half of our group stayed there and we will as well in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Sundial Hotel during our tour of the Rockies. We found the reception staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful at check-in. We had a one-bedroom suite, with sofa-bed for the boys in the lounge. There was a small kitchen area with large fridge, oven and dishwasher. We had a small balcony which looked out over the gondala, the boys enjoyed watching the mountain bikers. The suite was comfortable and clean, and reasonably spacious. We were glad of the A/C in the lounge as it was very hot during our stay - the reception staff advised us to close all the curtains and leave the A/c on during the day, and that certainly worked - could have done with A/c in the bedroom too. We were there over a busy weekend, and it was a little noisy on the Saturday night, but I guess that's inevitable in a busy resort. It's a short walk to the base of Blackcomb Mountain where there are various kids activities including putting and a luge. We found there were less queues for the chair-lift (compared with the gondola at the base of Whistler Mountain), and at the top, you can take a free bus to the glacier/ski area. Then back for the peak-to-peak gondola (from Blackcomb to Whistler mountain) - amazing! All shops were close by, and great to be able to have breakfast in our suite and cook the odd meal. There was also free wifi which was great. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend. Just wish it had a pool!

We were lucky to get a great suite on the 8th floor with our own (huge) private deck and hot tub. Gorgeous views, great location, large and comfortable accommodations. Nice bathroom. Right at base of Whistler lifts. We stayed for three nights and were very happy here.

After over 12 hours travelling from the UK to Whistler we arrived to find that the rooms we had booked on the same floor were not available and instead we were offered rooms four floors apart. With one teenage/young children and having booked abd reserved specific room numbers this was not good enough. Furthermore the customer service was awful. There was a single (young and sadly clueless) member of staff who could offer no alternative or reason other than "we haven't been able to contact the people in your second room so they're still there" - and this was punctuated by her anwering the reception phone everytime it rang. We asked to move to the Pan Pacific next door which was cheaper and absolutely great.

I stayed at the Sundial for two nights in July 2009 with a friend after visiting Vancouver. Due to the recession, we got a great deal on this hotel (about $110 per night) and probably wouldn't have spent the money to stay there under normal circumstances. But we were truly glad we did.

Our room was a nicely sized one bedroom apartment with kitchen and eating area. It wasn't huge, but I live in a San Francisco apartment, so this hotel room was bigger! After spending oodles of money on dinners in Vancouver, it was great to shop at the grocery store and cook in our room. I read a few reviews that said the rooms were shabby and in need of an upgrade, but that was not our experience. We stayed in room 300 and it was very clean, spacious, and modern.

The hotel is located right there in the Village and in very close proximity to hiking trails and the ski lifts. We enjoyed the hot tub on the roof, although it would have been cramped if anyone else had shown up.

The only less-than-stellar part of our stay involved our interactions with the front desk staff. They were very welcoming and helpful, but at the same time flaky. We called down on the day of our departure to ask for a late check out, which was approved. But apparently, they never entered the request into the computer system, so we received a call from housekeeping to vacate our room. Then the front desk called to say that although our request for late check out was verbally approved, they forgot to enter it into the system, so we should hurry up (this was minutes before our agreed upon late check out time). All of this seems trivial, but it was annoying to realize that when we arrived early on our first day at the hotel, we weren't allowed to check in until 4pm. They took our phone number and said they would call when the room was ready, but never did. Yet they couldn't give us until 1pm to leave our room? In the end, it all worked out and none of this overshadowed how much we liked the hotel.

As others have mentioned, parking is expensive, but you can park for free in the day lots that are not far from the hotel.

We really loved our trip to Whistler and our stay at the Sundial. Even though we usually wouldn't pay their full price, we both agreed we would consider it on our next stay. The Sundial isn't overly ornate or posh, but it is a very clean, modern, and convenient option in Whistler.
