“Great honeymoon stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2014 via mobile

Fantastic hotel in a perfect location in the very centre of the village. The rooms are a great size and the breakfast offering is generous to say the least. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Whistler. We had a fantastic stay and the staff do everything they can to make sure you really enjoy the hotel and Whistler. When we return to Whistler we will be booking this hotel again.

I stayed at the Pan Pacific Whistler in October of 2013 (for business) and could not have been happier or more comfortable. The rooms are nice and clean and well laid out but it's the service that sets this hotel apart from the others. I had debated staying at the Four Seasons or the Fairmont but I lacked for nothing at the Pan Pacific. Because I was in Whistler on business, I needed several car rides, special requests, mailings etc. - and my requests were always granted with a smile. Really - the staff were excellent.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong as the rooms are all nice!

I am sorry to learn that your time here in Whistler was for work, but we'd hope you'd agree that there are worst places to have to come to work in.

I am extremely happy to read that your suite was to your liking and the level of service and attitude of the staff left a positive mark on you. Your comments are appreciated by all from our team here in Whistler.

Hopefully next time we can welcome you back for a little less business and more relaxation time.

We stayed here over new years and it was a perfect location for us. Not too far from the gondolas but right at the edge of the village. This hotel suited us as we are a family of four but my wife doesn't like to ski every day so it was great to be in the village with plenty of other activities. The village itself is large with many shops and markets including a cinema as well. I would recommend the Pan Pacific Village but if you don't like Aussies then pick another resort! Every second person we met was an Australian, including hotel, restaurant staff etc. now I know why it's referred to as Whistralia.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for your sharing your recent experiences for your stay with us over the New Year.

I am so pleased to read that your family so appreciated our property and its location and proximity to everything from the shops to the gondola and all the local amenities and activities.

Without reading too much into your comment, I hope that there weren't too many Aussie's in town for your liking.

I'm glad that your family enjoyed their New Years in Whistler with us and hopefully we can look forward to welcoming you back some time in the future.

We just returned from 20 nights at the PanPac Whistler village. This is our second time here. We have always wanted to stay in the PanPac Whistler mountainside, but continue to choose the village for the following reasons:
1. Less night time noise
2. Free first apres drink between 4 and 5pm including cookies for the kids and bar snacks
3. Breakfast included.
4. Proximity to village restaurants and shops

We stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment with our 6 and 8 year old kids, who slept comfortably on the pull out sofa bed. The room has a fully functioning kitchen which helped us quite a bit of money by not eating out every night. We functioned fine with the size of the room, but it did mean we had to be really organised in packing things away as soon as we got back to the room. The space isn't really an issue because you usually only use the room to sleep ... and you crash after a day of skiing. Washing dries surprisingly well overnight. My ski suit dried out overnight after a wash. Tip is to buy or bring a whole lot of coat hangers for storage and drying.

Got to know the director of rooms on our last trip and we kept in touch to secure the booking for this year. They were really friendly, obliging and reliable during the course of our year as we made our booking. Got great discounts by booking a long time in advance.

Really don't have a bad thing to say about this place.

Dear valued guest.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to generously share your recent trip experiences with us online here.

We are absolutely thrilled that your family so enjoyed all of the Pan Pacific Village Centre's many amenities, from the suite, the central location, the hosted apres hour and complimentary drink and complimentary buffet breakfast to name but a few. You were certainly with us long enough to familiarize yourselves with our property, our staff and all that Whistler has to offer and we're very pleased to hear that we were able to take good care of you.

I know it was our Director of Rooms, Nicole Leddy's pleasure (as was it the rest of our team) to meet you and assist where she could and we shall all look forward to welcoming you all back to Whistler in the coming years.

Warm regards,

This was our first overseas ski experience for our family of 6 from Australia , and we were so pleased to have chosen Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre. Our suite was spacious, very well equipped and had gorgeous views. The service was excellent and we really appreciated the breakfasts in the morning and the daily afternoon teas . We all enjoyed the outdoor hot pool and spa and it was very convenient having ski lockers mountainside.
The staff were very helpful with all our requests and pre booking ski hire, lift tickets and lessons. We would definitely stay here again.

Dear guest.

Thank you kindly for sharing your thoughts and experiences during your time with us here in Whistler.

I can only imagine that it must have been quite the logistical challenge for your family of 6 coming all this way, so I am very happy to read that we were able to make your trip experience easy and hopefully memorable.

Of course, it always appreciated when we hear that the delivery of our onsite amenities and functions, such as the complimentary breakfasts, the ski valet storage and suites are well received as we really do rely on our guest feedback to constantly strive to learn and continually evolve and improve - so thank you.

Hopefully we can look forward to welcoming your family back to Whistler in the coming years.

This was our fifth time to Whistler; fourth staying at the PanPac, first time at the PanPac Village Centre.

First let me say we love PanPac mountainside. I begrudge every single step taken in ski boots, and the Mountainside property is so close you could throw a skiboot from the back door and hit the Blackcomb gondy. Bliss. Plus, ski rental on the ground floor and a great hot tub with a view of the fireworks. What's not to love?

But we left our booking a bit late this year and were unable to secure a two bedroom apartment for the dates we wanted, so with our hearts in our mouths, we agreed to stay at the Village Centre instead.

First, the bad -- it is a couple of hundred metres from the lifts. Well, maybe 150.

Now the good - you can store your gear at the Panpac mountainside, so really there's no need to clump around in skiboots and certainly no need to carry skis.

Also good - much less nighttime noise from the grooming machinery. This has been a constant feature of our previous stays mountainside, so either the grooming people have found a less noisy way to groom the lower slopes, or being a few buildings back makes all the difference. Big plus.

Also, the rooms at the Village Centre, while essentially the same as Mountainside, are appreciably bigger. Not twice as big or anything like that, but the living area is substantially larger and we certainly appreciated that over the course of our ten days.

But the thing we found we really liked, surprisingly, was the difference being in the middle of the village. We'd always thought the mountainside property to be conveniently located, but at the Village centre there's any number of restaurants you could literally hold your breath and run to - they're that close. Several nights I didn't even bother putting on a jacket as we'd only be outside for less an a minute. It more than made up for a 4 minute walk each morning.

As for the thing we thought we'd miss most (sitting in the hot tub watching late skiers come down the hill), Village Centre has something you really need to know about. Every day between 4 and 5pm, your first drink at the bar is free (or milk & cookie). Hardly a big deal, right? Well, the thing that makes it work is the hot tubs just outside the bar.

Now, normally I feel somewhat self-conscious walking around a hotel wearing a bathrobe. But at PanPac Village Centre, this is where the action is. The cognoscenti pull on their togs, put on their bathrobe and wander down to the bar to grab a free drink and go sit in the hot tubs. Most of the people you see in reception are wearing bath towels. Most of the people you catch in the elevator are wearing bath towels. People actually sit in the bar in their bath towels. If you smile sweetly enough, the waitress might even bring your drink out and hand it to you while you're sitting in the hot tub. Now, I know you can (and people do) take drinks to the Mountainside hot tub, but it's kinda inconvenient. At Village Centre, the whole thing has pretty much become an *institution*. And I approve :)

One other thing - Village Centre includes breakfast. The breakfasts are serviceable but not great. In fact, for 8 of our ten mornings we choose to make pancakes in our room rather than troop down to breaky. It's not that the breakfasts are bad, just not worth the inconvenience and extra time compared to our usual habit of pancakes interleaved with getting ready.

Room Tip: Higher level room, two bedroom. Make sure you put on your swimmers and head down to the hot tub for...

Dear valued guest,

Thank you ever so much for taking a few moments to share you recent trip experiences online with us here.

Well what can I say - Look like those 150 additional steps to the mountain have turned your eye a little!

Of course, you are correct - there indeed a few tiny nuances between the Pan Pacific Mountainside and the Village Centre and each has their benefits. I thank you for for generous;y elaborating on your take of both properties and how well you received them.

It certainly sounds as if the hosted apres hour was a big hit with you and I'm so glad that the gathering of robes, cookies and drink offerings has apparently left an indelible mark on you.

We'd love to welcome you back to either of our two properties, whichever you end up choosing, so please stay in touch and let us know how we can assist you.

Warm regards,

This is a hotel that is very good at catering to skiers -- from the room design to the amenities to the service. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite (no den) with six adults...2 per bedroom and 2 on the pull out couch in the living room. It was a little tight but still very comfortable. The valet took all our skis upon arrival and put them in a locker pre-assigned to us over at PP Mountainside. The staff at this hotel is incredibly helpful and very pleasant to interact with. They have the right mix of organization and professionalism but also chill vibe. We used the hot tubs daily and partook in the happy hour. Also, location can't be beat. All six of us couldn't have been happier w/this hotel. They're great! Tip: There is an awesome grocery store within a 5 min walk of the hotel. Also, Starbucks is right down the steps. (We didn't love the hotel's coffee at the buffet.)
