“Will be staying again if we happen to go back to Whistler”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

My husband and I were fortunate enough to finally take our overseas trip. We spent a week here as our R&R time from San Fran work trip. We can't praise the staff and management enough for their warm hospitality. I had the flu which wasn't a very nice experience on our first o/s trip, but that did not stop us exploring the lovely town of Whistler and surrounds. Snow had fallen on the glacier and we took the opportunity to take a Jeep Tour. Not budgeting for snow gear we would have to go into Whistler to purchase new items, but thanks to the Manager (sorry can't recall her name) who personally drove us to a local 2nd hand shop rather than purchase new gear just for the one day. She then returned to pick us up and drive us into Whistler itself for me to visit a doctor. We sincerely thank you. As Australian owners yes the resort is a little tired compared to Australian Resorts we have stayed at but for us this just added charm so we didn't find anything wrong with it. Our 1 bedroom apartment was nice, cosy and clean with great views, even from it's position. No lift to the apartment was a little inconvenient for me with bad knees, but not to worry the helpful Reception staff assisted my husband in carry the extra suitcase down to our apartment. A short walk down hill will take you to local public transport into Whistler and local store has some fantastic produce. Taxi back from Whistler to Sundance is cheap. But all in all thank you everyone for making our first Canadian trip so relaxing and memorable. We will eventually be back some day.

Room Tip: One bedroom below ground floor for peace & quiet. Blue Jays and squirrels came right up to the b...

Stayed in a 3 bedroom for 3 nights. The staff were very friendly and and our check in went smooth. Must say this place is starting to look a bit tired. From the last time we stayed the interior of the units have been upgraded but there were a number of things that did not meet our expectations as owners when compared to the fit and finish to other Worldmark resorts. When we checked in we noticed multiple light bulbs burnt out in the lobby light fixture. In the second bedroom there was no dresser so we had to live out of a suitcase. The buttons on the dishwasher display panel were damaged which looked horrible. There was a large amount of dust on window ledges and dust clumps on the ceiling beams. The area under the kitchen sink was quite dirty and needed to be wiped clean. The walls in the bathroom were dirty so we wiped them clean. This place needs a new exterior paint job. The near new BBQ was filthy and needed cleaning prior to us using it. In summary, this resort has the ability to be much nicer. The view is spectacular and our deck was massive. Unfortunately, it will be quite some time before we return to this resort and will pick alternate accommodation when staying in Whistler.

Hello Charlene,

Glad to hear the WorldMark Whistler staff were friendly and efficient with the check in process.

I am sorry the WorldMark Sundance units did not meet your expectations of overall fit and finish. WorldMark Sundance units were completely renovated in 2010 and are scheduled for another renovation in 2015.

The housekeeping and maintenance standards you mentioned are not what we aspire to and is far from the norm, when you choose to stay with us again I am sure we will exceed your expectations.

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions

Worldmark Sundance is not so much a "Resort" as it is a holiday rental. Located in Whistler Creekside, Sundance is perched on a bluff which offers spectacular views of the mountains, lake and valley below. The room (#209) is a two bedroom plus unit which is modestly but comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped and the BBQ on the deck was a welcome site as it meant not carting food to a common area and back again. In the evening, the fireplace created a relaxing ambience after exploring Whistler village which is only 10 minutes away. Since there was only two of us, the unit offered plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The only down side of the unit was the bed in the master bedroom. Time to refresh the bed (too firm for our liking) and frame so when one turned over the whole thing does not shake, waking both occupants (hence the Sleep Quality rating). There is no pool nor fitness facility on site however, there is a hot tub to relax in after a day on the slopes (hence, the reason I do not list Sundance as a "Resort"). There is no restaurant on site but hey, this is Whistler! Your choice is unlimited and just minutes away from Sundance (if its pizza night, try Misty Mountain Pizza on Wednesday --- 18 inch 5 topping for $18.00, easily feed 4-6 people---huge!). What really sets Sundance apart from the rest is the people and the service. No matter who we spoke to or interacted with, they were friendly and attentive to your needs during our stay. On the second day there, the front desk phoned to check if everything was satisfactory and if we required anything. Shortly after the call, a staff member was at our unit to replace and refresh any items we required. So, two thumps up for fast friendly service. Overall, a comfortable and clean place to retreat to after a full day at Whistler.

Me my wife and sister in law stayed in a one bedroom with a pull out bed from the couch in the living room. Just as advertised there is no swimming pool only a hot tub and no airconditioning in the rooms but plenty of fans, and no elevator but after check in you start by going down 1 or 2 flights of stairs, it was a nice excercise. The lobby was bright and looked newly renovated and very bright and inviting. The staff are very friendly most are from the UK or Australia and they are very accomidating. The hotel only has 35 rooms it is very quiet and peacful at the resort. I liked the one bedroom unit alot it had everything we needed and it was a perfect size for all of us. The front desk gave me extra pillows and even let us rent a few movies free which we were very happy with. The only thing negative is you have to bring your own shampoo and conditioner and the bathtub was really tall all 3 of us hit our knees on the tub several times getting in and out of the shower/bathtub. There is an attached laundry room for each guest next to your own room, you have to use your room key to get into it and do your laundry with the detergent they provide. There is a gas station and a market right down the hill, and a nice little dinner too. The resort is only a 5 minute drive to all the Whistler Village. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again next year.

I spent a week with family. We stayed in 2 bedrooms plus apartment (1 master bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bunk beds) #207. Kitchen has completed utensils included salt, pepper, herbs, plastic bin, washing liquid. It also has washing machine and dryer included washing powder. If we need any additional one of these items, we can go to reception and ask to get more. The apartment has a balcony and we can do BBQ which we did it once during our stay.
The minor things are
*Watch out with mosquitoes! (but I don't blame the resort)
*If you sleep in master bedroom, you can listen road traffic passing by.
*Internet/Wifi not free, but they provide a desktop, front of reception, which you can use internet for free.
It's convenient location if you have a car.
Conclusion: we are glad staying here.

I have been this hotel for several time for our skiing trip. Loved the service here and the hot tub. Quiet and clean hotel. I would definitely recommend it.

When we drove up to this condo i was a little disappointed b/c the exterior looks quite old as well as the lobby. However, when we opened the door to our 3 bedroom/3 bathroom (room 407) we were VERY PLEASED!!!
Beautiful vaulted ceilings and beautiful views looking at the lake and at mountainside. Not sure why they don't advertise this more! The BBQ is under a covered area outside, and a generous patio to enjoy the view. The layout of the condo is great, as it has two sitting areas equipped w/ a TV, one upstairs and one downstairs and each of the bedrooms is sort of located on its own "wing" Each bedroom has a TV and either an ensuite or a bathroom just outside the bedroom door.
The kitchen is fairly small but very nice w/ granite countertops, a bar, and the cupboards have everything you need (pots, dinnerware, spices, ice cubes!, ect.) to get started.
We wished we took earplugs along b/c we could hear our neighbours and they werent even very loud. We are light sleepers though.
We were pleased with our stay and would definetly go back! Thank you WorldMark Sundance!

Room Tip: we stayed in 407 and loved it! Not sure if all the rooms have been renovated yet..
