Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed here for 4 nights in July. All the reviews are right. This is a beautiful location and the Lodge itself is magnificent. We have had the opportunity to stay twice in Whistler during the summertime = once in the main village at a really nice hotel and now once outside the village at Nita Lake Lodge. It really is a very different experience and I am not sure which is better.
The staff at Nita Lake were all great, without exception. They were all very professional and beyond courteous but not overwhelming or in your face fake. I give high marks to the person in charge of customer service and employee training/morale. The bikes and kayaks/stuff they had to use are a great option. The walking/bike paths that are mostly paved and run around all 3 of the lakes are wonderful.
I really have only one recommendation and one financial comment about Nita Lake Lodge. The recommendation is to be even more specific about the room and the view. We thought we were getting a full lake view room and come to find out our room was on the right corner of the lodge and the view was partially blocked by the room to the right of us (our balcony was placed back at least 10 feet from the room to the right so we could see the outside wall of the building which blocked half the view). We paid even more for this suite since it is larger and has two stories. Now we ended up liking this room and in fact if we ever returned to stay at the Lodge would ask for this room but at this price point comes serious expectations and this led to an initial bad impression about the Lodge and its clever way of describing (or not fully describing I should say) the rooms. The other is the cost. I guess there comes a point in any cost/value determination where you have to wonder is something worth it or not. I guess with 3-4 years of positive reviews the Nita Lake Lodge has been able to slowly raise there pricing to the levels of the highest 5 star rated properties. I would just caution that there might come a point where there cliental consists of only the ultra rich and wealthy and that would be a shame since this property screams relaxed and refined and not only rich and snotty.
With the above said I would recommend this place to anyone because the location is awesome, the lodge is beautiful and the management has gone the extra mile in terms of customer service! Thanks to Nita Lake Lodge for giving us a travel memory that will last a very long time!
