Love spending time in there, esp after a stressfull time. Right on the highway, accessible, cost friendly. Loved going to see the art work by Jasyn Lucas, where a purple lite was needed inorder to see the lit up northenr lights!!!

“Heritage Museum”

Very nice museum. Lots of things to see, so take your time. Good look back at history. Make sure if you are going to visit, it is open, as we have missed it on the long weekend in August.

“Great place where you can see a lot!”
Reviewed 31 May 2012

Friendly staff made my adventure at this museum a wonderful experience!
There are great collections of minerals in large pull out drawer cabinets to examine, although Thompson was established in the 1940's I found displays of artifacts much older, lots of wide life displays of all the species and insects found in the area.Native displays of artifacts that are very detailed and well displayed. One can see how private collections have been incorporated into the Museums displays. The Mining industry is presented (of course) in a most unique way, examples of equipment and temporary housing portable units that you can go in and look around. One of the most interesting displays I saw was a full sized Caribou skin ti-pi (although it is small and economically built...this is the real thing and you can look inside and see a fully equipped shelter ready for occupation!
