“Nice Friendly Atmosphere...Great Family Campground.”
Reviewed 17 April 2011

My husband and I have been seasonal campers at Rubber Ducky resort for 2 seasons now. We applied to become seasonal after just one visit to the resort. We love the friendly atmosphere, of both the owners and the other campers. The campground itself is very clean. The sites are spacious and well maintained. The food at the Rubber Ducky Grill is fantastic and reasonably priced(a good value for the money, we usually order something every weekend) The Rec Center is clean and a great meeting place to chat with the owners and other campers, catch a game on the big screen or just sit and watch cartoons with the children. It also has some arcade games and play centers for small children. This is a great idea for the rainy not so nice days. It also has some necessities that you can purchase for those “forgotten items” The pool is usually filled with children and parents laughing and having a great time. At any given time you can see ducks waddling around or just enjoying the pond. The outdoor play structure, miniature golf, horse shoe pit and field in the back provide many hours of enjoyment for all. Many Friday nights you will find the outdoor theatre filled with people of all ages for the weekly movie. The Rubber ducky train is also a great feature for families with children, and a joy to watch go by the campsite with children waving and laughing. Throughout the season there are various activities for the kids...easter egg hunt, Christmas in July, Ducky Fest...and much more. It’s close to shopping, golf and paintball.
I would give this family campground TWO BIG THUMBS UP.
Looking forward to another FUN Relaxing summer at Rubber Ducky Resort!!!

We stayed in one of the bed and breakfast rooms at this campground for a few days in August, 2010, and we were very disappointed. We have family in the area and stayed at this campground as it was in a convenient location for visiting. However, it was a very bad experience from beginning to end. We arrived late on a Friday night to very rowdy drunk people blocking the entrance to the restaurant/check-in area. As a 30-something female entering the restaurant to check in, there were several inappropriate comments and gestures made and yelled at me by several gentlemen by the door - probably not the best first impression desired to be greeted on arriving guests. My family (including 2 young children) was watching and waiting in the car while this was going on - not a great start. Upon check-in, and throughout our stay, we found the staff very unfriendly and they acted as if we were an inconvenience to them. The bed and breakfast room we checked into was very dirty with layers of dust on the tv and radiator, stains on the bedding, pet hair all over the futon bed, dust bunnies in the corners, and a very strong smell of mold coming from the bathroom. Needless to say, we were ready to turn around and leave, but we tried to make the best of it and stick it out as we knew we wouldn't be spending much time in the room during our stay in the area. We contemplated buying a lamp for the room the next day as the lighting was so bad we couldn't read a book or a newspaper. We went to the restaurant for breakfast the next morning, and the restaurant, like our room, was very dirty - it didn't appear as if the tables had been wiped off from the night before, and there were flies everywhere. They have a "help yourself" complimentary breakfast which consists of toast, waffles or cereal which is a good concept, but the table and everything surrounding the food was very dirty and there was a fly floating around in the juice. We grabbed a few pieces of toast, and as we were eating, we were constantly greeted by grungy people walking through the restaurant in their pajamas to use the shower area which is at the back of the restaurant. It seemed very unsanitary and strange - why wouldn't there be a separate entrace for the shower area? We left the resort early after breakfast and spent the the remainder of the day at our relatives' place. When we returned to the resort at the end of the day, we were greeted by another rowdy scene, several police cars and a few individuals being led out in handcuffs in full view of our young children. We were flabergasted by this scene. Not quite the family-atmosphere one would expect at a family campground. On a positive, the resort itself really has a lot of potential - there is a pool, a duck pond, a mini golf course and a small recreation area at the back of the restaurant for kids to use, but this place is crying out for some love and attention and is poorly maintained. We have stayed at other bed and breakfasts in the past for a much lower cost, and the rooms have been wonderful - very clean and cozy. This place is unlike any bed and breakfast I've stayed at before. For the experience we had, we should have paid a quarter of the price of what they charge. Perhaps if a person stayed in their own camper on this resort away from the main restaurant area, it would be a better experience. For people without children, the party atmosphere might be okay. But for a family with young children, I'm not so sure this is the place for you. Unfortunately, we would never stay here again.

My family and I have stayed at this campground many times. We have a young daughter and she always has a blast. She has friends there and loves the pool and other activities that happen during the summer. We have made friends with some of the other campers and we always enjoy the times we spend around the camp fires. We feel that this is a great place for us and our daughter to play and relax in a safe environment. We have met the owners and they are friendly and aways will to help us with anything we might need. We also enjoy eating at the grill because sometimes, you just don't feel like cooking! It's also a great place because of it's location . A golf course right down the road, shopping isn't far if you need to zip out for something, and it is close to Winnipeg which is nice. We always look forward to our next visit. Keep up the great work Rubber Ducky!

Worst campground i have ever been at, fire pits and sites were filthy and full of garbage. The locals were smoking(not cigarettes) and when we complained the managers they did nothing but refund the next days stay to get us to leave. So we packed the kids up and took off. We were very let down
