Owner description: One of Fredericton’s most beautiful and historic areas, Officers’ Square was named one of the Top 10 Public Spaces in Canada! It was a centre of military activity when Fredericton was garrisoned by the British and Canadian Armies. During July and August, it is the site for outdoor summer concerts, the Changing of the Guard ceremony, daily outdoor theatre, and a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.

“Some small art shops, but needs more”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

My friend was quite excited to see the different shops here. There are a handful of small art boutiques built into the building, but only about five or so, and it seemed like there could have been many more. Maybe we were there on a slow day. The shops had nice stuff, mostly geared toward women, so I can't really judge too much. The building was not as interesting as the legislative building, though.

“Great spot with various activities”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

There is always something going on from skating in the winter, concerts in the summer. Just a local gathering spot with something to do.

“Great park in downtown”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Lots of Entertainment throughout the year . The changing of the guard during the summer takes you back in history, and an ice skating rink in winter. Great family fun

“Military and civilian history”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Both military and civilian history are interestingly portrayed in the museum here. And don't miss seeing the Coleman frog (40 pounds)! In the summer time every hour the guard outside is changed and in the afternoons the 1800's guards put on a display reminiscent of those days.

“Well-loved green space”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Flanked by the old barracks, Queen Street and a feeder road for the downtown bridge, this park has a nice view of the river, some shade trees, an entertainment staging area that is used at least twice weekly for music, festivals and celebrations throughout the non-freezing seasons. Kids love the giant beaver statue. Adults love the fully accessible public bathrooms. Everyone loves this park!
