We were at the Inn to be close to our daughter studying at the university. Jean and Bill were exceptionally kind, offering to help us in any way, and also extending that offer to our daughter for the coming school year. Breakfast was delicious and the conversation lovely. We'll be back.

This is our third visit. And the hosts remember what you drink for breakfast, when you like to eat, and what your interests are. The egg dish at breakfast is always interesting, tasty and satisfying -- unlike the cold buffets I have experienced elsewhere. Their greeting is invariably friendly, their instructions on the layout are clear, and their provision of menus from local eateries all make for a relaxing stay. We meet the most interesting people at breakfast, which makes it very hard to hit the road. You really want to linger and chat. The B&B itself is close to town (5 minutes walk) and to the University (10 minutes). For my money, you can't miss with the Savoy Arms.

We had a lovely bright comfortable room, a generous and delicious breakfast and helpful hosts. The proprieters went above and beyond expectations to meet our needs and took time to answer questions we had about the area. We would happily stay there again.

This was the most unpleasant stay I have had in my many years of traveling. The house itself is fine but the owners (especially Gene) are rude and not hospitable to guests unless you follow all of their strict rules. Be sure to not be even 5 minutes late for breakfast or you will receive a lecture. I would not recommend this place for anyone. I have also heard subsequently from locals that the owners are quite harsh and neurotic.

This was a simply appalling experience. The owners were rude to me as soon as I walked in the front door, and continued to be extraordinarily unpleasant the next morning as well, for no apparent reason. Breakfast was OK but blighted by the waves of hostility coming from the owners. Entirely typical of this unfriendly Canadian village where it's a case of Hobson's Choice for most things and the customer suffers accordingly. The best advice? Bypass Sackville altogether and visit Amherst instead!

  • Liked — Nothing.
  • Disliked — The extreme rudeness and unfriendliness of the staff.
