“Nice long walk”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Wonderful long trails. Bring your bread crumbs to feed the swans and your running shoes to go for a nice long run. Enjoy :)

“A special Place”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

I visited the park for the first time since 1972 for the Centennial celebrations and was mightily impressed by its beauty, family focus and recognition of Newfoundland history as evidenced by the beautiful statues commemorating the death of a little girl on the Florizel and the bravery of Newfoundland soldiers in the Great War.
Judging by the number of people attending the celebrations, the citizens of St Johns cherish Bowring Park and long may it continue.

“Park close the city”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

A lovely and large park close to the city. It has many paths, a river, pool, waterpark, playground, fields and many picnic areas. It is a good place for a stroll, to play catch and feed the ducks.

“A townie tradition”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Bowring Park attracts locals 12 months of the year; people love walking the park and its trails during all of the seasons, especially when the weather is warm. There's a good hiking trail off the main park route- ask for directions to find it.
For families, summer time is when the outdoor pool opens. Another perennial favourite.
The park has been undergoing a refurbishment, and is also celebrating its centennial in 2014.

“Tribute to the Fallen of WW1”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

This is a large park with lots to see and do, so plan your time accordingly. I was impressed by the tribute to the fallen of WW1 as the number of men that went to war and didn’t return to Newfoundland was a serious blow to that generation here, proportionately speaking. The whole area is very picturesque so be sure to bring your camera.
