Visiting Yellowknife for the first time I was told by my family that a visit to the Old Glassworks was a must. We got together 6 people and we had a great afternoon, none of us had been before so it was something new. Shannon was very knowledgeable and very helpful. She explained how everything worked and was on hand to guide us through the afternoon. We all had a fun time and made things which are useful that we could take away with us. If you have a couple of hours to spare I would highly recommend it.

Funky, fun, sustainable and creative. Just call them and book a time to go and create beautiful glass art. Affordable and a great representation of creating from waste. Do this!

My husband, daughter and I are travel addicts and learned a while back if you keep buying the t-shirts and other garbage as your souvenier you won't really have anything to remind you of the trip 10yrs down the road. We began to spend a bit more but find something unique to the area and worth keeping. Old Town Glassworks was just the perfect experience. We bought some beautiful reasonable jewelry with images of Northern Lights and other local symbols and we had them custom make us 6 wine glasses that just arrived today. Perfect condition and beautiful artwork sketched on the classes. We be the start of many interesting memories when we use them. Place is small but well worth the find and the staff in wonderful. Ask for their help and if you don't see exactly what you want on the shelves they will make it and ship it for you.

My daughter-in-law and I took the workshop at Old Town Glassworks today. Rob was very knowledgable and helpful. We each made 4 glasses and it was really fun. I can hardly wait to get home to Ontario and show mine off.

This was a lovely experience. Got to have a lesson as to how to polish glass and also how sandblasting occurs on glass. We then got to make something of our own. The choices are varied. Wine glass, beer, drinking glass and other choices.

It was very informative, fun, though a bit steep in price. It was difficult to decide on the stencils for the glasses as there are so many to choose from.
