There is a nice outside deck but the night we went it was rainy so we had to eat inside. The good thing is that the tables are communal and you might end up sitting with strangers. We were lucky enough to sit with a regular who gave us advise about the menu and also some local history. The food was very good. We wanted to keep it local so we had bison burgers and smoked fish - delicious!

Communal seating means you may be seated along one of the long picnic tables with people you don't know. Might be fun, as long as you are expecting that.

The service: friendly, efficient & cheerful despite very hot conditions.

The food: The salad was fresh & tasty. There were nice sides, the main (fish of the day) was a nice piece but relatively plainly seasoned.

The drinks: good for beer drinkers.

The price: consistent with similar places in the area. NOT cheap: $11 salad, $34 main course, $3 non-alcoholic bevs

The entertainment (live theatre taking us through the history of the Wildcat Cafe & area) was great! Communal seating, bannock & tea adds to the ambiance, for sure.

We arrived with local friends and it appeared to be a mix of locals and tourists eating. The deck was full so we ate inside. The food was good not great. The fish special was good and the ribs were OK. Having rated this as average, it was more the inattentive service that rankled.
However you do have to go here as this place has a ton of history. The log walls and foundation have been redone. It is a piece of Yellowknife history.

Been at the Wildcat several times over the last 8 years, significant improvements this year, had the enjoy the Bison Burger twice this month because it was done so perfectly. Had a vegetarian couple with me on the second visit and they felt the Mushroom Burger was the best they ever had. Worth the wait and shared table if necessary, the wine list is good too!

The food is different than down south and it is a historic building. Sunday breakfast was good. Included bannock and homemade jam.
