Four Seasons Retreat
Reviewed 28 September 2012

My spouse and I have stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years and in fact were married on this property. The cabins are clean and provide all that you need for a private and relaxing retreat away from the world. You can throw a rock from your cabin and hit the ocean. The walking trails are lengthy and secluded. Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is a bit of heaven on earth.

Stayed here for 4 days for a wedding which was hosted at the Four Seasons.

We had a 3 bedroom place which, after visiting family in other cabins, seemed like the nicest one amongst them all. A little bit dated but wasn't an issue for anyone in our party- it added to the cabin feel.

Swimming pool was small but clean and the hot tub was well looked after and a quiet place to relax.

Staff were helpful and polite and always around the park to provide towels and items.

Had a bit of a problem with ants, some in the cabin and a lot around the retreat.

I found the location of the cabins fine, but the park is definitely a 'retreat'...20mins from a small shop and 40mins from a town which was nice but a lot for us Brits! Beautiful views of the bay though and nice walks when the tide is out although very muddy!

Just wanted to leave a review saying that the Four Seasons Retreat is so much nicer in person than anything you will see online. The location is awesome (you drive down a dirt road and then into the trees where all the cabin are spread out and surrounded by trees on all three sides. The front of the cabin is clearcut and looks over the Bay of Fundy). It is stunning!
The facilities were all very clean and the kitchen was equipped with enough plates, cutlery, pots and pans to make a full course meal. There is also a working BBQ outside with provided propane.
The pool was kept very clean, as well as the hot tub.

We were pleasantly surprised with how nice our stay ended up being as the online website made us feel kind of iffy towards the place. But let me tell you, it is one of those places that is so much better in person!
Enjoy your stay

I cannot say enough about this place. We came upon it by chance back in 2009 and stayed for the first time a couple of months later for my husband's 50th. Then again xmas 2010, spring 2011, June 2011 and are planning again for xmas 2011. In all those times, we have only enjoyed total peace and quiet - even on New Year's Eve, we heard nothing. Perhaps we had good neighbours but by comparison to many other places we've checked out/stayed at, there is a nice distance as well as privacy from the other cottages. We've stayed at both 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom cottages.

It is nothing fancy but that's not a bad thing and hey, we are not fancy people. We've always found it clean and just what we expect for a cottage getaway and R & R away from the rat race we hate. The owners and staff are nothing but helpful! As someone said, they are there if you need them but if not, they just let you enjoy their lovely, peaceful land - how lucky are they to live there! Love the dogs and their pet-friendly policy.

The showers are small and one cottage has only a small love seat (hope we don't get that one again!) but other than that, we love this place and recommend it all the time! It seems to be always booked when we call so we need to get in the habit of booking further ahead of time.

Thanks all - can't wait for our next visit!

Room Tip: Try to remember the names of the cottages - we don't like the small love seat one but other than...

You have not lived until you have walked out at low tide on the Bay of Fundy and walked back in with the rising tide. Four Seasons is a hidden gem and I hesitate to review it as I fear they will be booked up the next time I want to visit. Hidden along the Bay of Fundy in Upper Economy, it is a relaxing family get away. Cute, quaint, fully equipped cottages are all nicely positioned along the bay with beautiful views of the World's highest tides. A great place for family get togethers or romantic get-aways. I look forward to another visit in the future.

Room Tip: The have 1, 2, or 3 bedroom cottages. The Romantic 1 bedrooms are nicely seperated from the 2 and 3...

My husband and I stayed here two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and came back this year for the Labor day long weekend. It exceeds everything we could want with the service, the view, the bass fishing (even though we didn't catch a keeper) and the privacy (we were in the guest house this time). The cottage and grounds are immaculate and it is so peaceful and serene we hate to leave. I am actually in the process of booking one again for a girls weekend. The staff are so friendly and helpful and yet leave you alone to enjoy yourselves but are there if you need anything. In our opinion you couldn't stay anywhere more beautiful!!! Also great that it is pet friendly. We are definitely hooked and will be back many more times. The pool and hot tub are a bonus even though we were too busy fishing to enjoy them this trip.

While the Bay of Fundy and it's incredible tides are a 10, the cabins are no more than a 2.

The 1 bedroom cabin rate is definitely not worth what they charge. I speak from experience traveling throughout the eastern provinces as well as the rest of Canada and the US, so I am fully aware of the the continents various demographics and the associated standards/prices. The cabins are very closely situated so be prepared to hear your neighbors barking dogs, loud conversations both inside their cabins and outside around their rented outdoor fire pits until the wee hours. Unless you want to get up in the middle of the night, since there are no telephones or lines to the office, and walk to the office which is unmanned at night, close all your windows and swelter instead - no air conditioning units. The only ceiling fan was covered in an inch of dust and I dared not to turn it on.
The cabin was supposed to be fully functional. It was not. Coffee machine ($10 at walmart) but no filters. Furniture was cheap and outdated and mismatched. Flooring, fixtures and lighting were same. The lighting was so dim at nite particularly in the bathroom and perhaps even questionable as per building codes. No bathtub - only very narrow shower stall with a small nozelled shower head. Two lumpy pillows allowed per 1 bdrm. cabin. Two bath towels per one bedroom cabin only with no linen service. Signage throughout cabin justifying their non-existent housekeeping policies, ie, no towel service due to "saving the earth", "no housekeeping services and guests must wash own dishes upon departure in order to keep cabin rates low." If someone drops by to visit you during the day there is a $5.00 visit charge! I felt like I was being nickle and dimed to death every time I turned around. Im surprised they didnt charge me for viewing the tides.

At over $120.00 per night for all of the above,I will stay next time on the Bay of Fundy up the highway at lovely century old mansion or one of a few well serviced Inns available. Perhaps even a campground for that matter!!

Love the maritimes and love the Bay of Fundy but not the Four Seasons Retreat (???!!).
