We stopped here for lunch on the way to Halifax from Digby and each ordered the German Salami sandwich (which sounded delicious). When it arrived, we discovered that the salami had been smoked to the point where it was inedible. My boyfriend ate his sandwich, but experienced stomach problems later in the day due to the over-smoked meat. I took all of the salami out of my sandwich (which left me with one slice of tomato, a few cucumber slices, and cheese) but was not offered a discount or anything. We also found the food to be overpriced for the quality. The pastries, baked goods, and coffee did look nice, but I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Wonderful Pastry. Delicious Schnitzel Sandwich on fresh baked multigrain bread. Excellent place for lunch or just a good place for wonderful authentic German pastry and bread.

We were looking for a healthy breakfast -- staying at a low-end motel nearby, which had a "complimentary" breakfast of cold cereal in styrofoam plates -- and the posted menu outside said they had berries and yogurt, among other healthy sounding items. But when they opened, turns out they didn't have any of them. We had to order eggs, an omelet, that were OK but nothing special. If you are looking for fabulous baked goods in this town, head to the Saturday and Wednesday farmers market for some of the best FRENCH pastries and bread we've ever tried.

We came here with a large group. The food was great, with wonderful sandwiches served on freshly baked buns and generous portions of delicious baked rhubarb dessert. The service was amazing, with attentive, organized, smiling servers and minimal waiting. We were quite pleased! After lunch we were all full, but that didn't stop us from taking home baked goodies from the bakery...yummmmmm!

The baked goods are quite overpriced and you can't depend on the freshness of the products. Before purchasing, be sure to check the price and freshness of all baked goods.
