Great museum and docents! Beautiful, historic grounds. Highlight was the graveyard presentation at 9:30 pm by Alan Melanson. Brilliant!

A very interesting and attractive site to spend a morning. Situated on the Annapolis River, Fort Anne is the oldest Fort in Canada. The exhibits are very interesting and are inter-active. There are even clothes from different periods that you're encouraged to try on. The exhibit on the 'unknown' soldier is fascinating. The grounds are extremely well kept and, even if you're not interested in the history of the place, it's a great place for a peaceful walk.

We very much enjoyed our visit to this fort as well as the whole of Annapolis Royal. The information boards are clear and helpful and the exhibition just enough .The discussion of the tapestry from the guide was charming and put the fort into context. Some beautiful views of the river.

Fort Anne is a huge and fascinating historic fort, at the heart of the lovely little town of Annapolis. The Fort, superbly well preserved and maintained, is similar to Fort George in Scotland.
Don't miss the German Bakery while in Annapolis!
