We stayed here for a few glorious warm days at the beginning of September and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The Inn is in a central location opposite the grounds of the fort, with everything in town a short walk away. That allowed us to soak up some local colour at a pub before returning to the Inn's restaurant for a fantastic meal featuring Digby scallops and lots of local produce. Innkeeper Pat Redgrave told us he's been featuring the 100-mile diet for 25 years but it's only become fashionable lately. Our plates were filled with a colourful medley of local vegetables, something you don't often get in Nova Scotian restaurants. We had a surprisingly good pinot grigio from Annapolis Highland vineyard, which is close by and worth a visit. The Inn itself is a lovely old building with a screened dining room addition. The rooms were quiet and comfortable but not frilly. All in all, highly recommended.
