“Historic building close to downtown”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Stayed here for one night in June. The hotel is ideally situated within easy walking distance of downtown in a quiet area. It is an historic building on 3 floors, set on a very large plot of about 6 acres. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and offered to help us with our luggage which had to be carried up two floors as there is no elevator. The room was large and very comfortable although the bed was quite high and shaped in such a way that it was easy to roll off in the night! Breakfast was very good - cinnamon roll, fruit cup, egg etc. For our evening meal we opted for Ye Olde Towne Pub which has a range of beers and offers good fare with friendly service.

Strongly recommend this hotel.

You will be very happy if you stay in this area. The owners are so helpful
and friendly! We really felt welcomed. The Inn is in walking distance to the town shops and restaurants and just across the street from the Historic Gardens and Fort Anne. This is truly a relaxing Place to stay with beautiful, well-kept grounds to enjoy. I have never had such a gourmet and delicious breakfast before. We had eggs Benedict, crepes, amazing scones, fresh fruit. We also had quite a large room with two double beds and sitting area. However, the extremely small bathroom was not up to our expectations. It is difficult to take a shower in a small claw-foot tub with a round curtain surrounding it. The sink was old and needed updating. This was the only part of our stay that was disappointing. Ask for one of the newer updated rooms. And Be sure to go on the nighttime cemetery walk at Fort Anne! Great fun!

Annapolis Royal is a good headquarters from which to explore Nova Scotia, and the Queen Anne Inn is a great place to stay when in Annapolis Royal. There you may sample the elegance of an earlier era in this stately home retaining period furnishings. The room was clean, our hosts Kate and Laszlo helpful and the breakfasts varied and delicious. I am not sure you can ask for more than that from a B&B, which is a great way to see Nova Scotia. While in Annapolis Royal area visit the Queen Anne Fort and the Port Royal Habitation (1605) the oldest European permanent settlement in North America north of Florida.

My wife and I knew very little about Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia and even less about the B&Bs in the area when we were planning our late springtime trip to the Canadian Maritimes. Fortunately, we chose The Queen Anne Inn for our two night stay. When we turned into the driveway we both let out an audible gasp at the sight of the large Victorian mansion that is The Queen Anne Inn. The exterior of the property is gorgeous and the common areas inside take you back to an earlier period in time. Our room was extremely clean with an en suite bath and a very comfortable queen size bed. Complimenting the quality of the Inn were the hosts (Laszlo and Kate). They made us feel at home from the moment that we arrived until the time that we left two days later. The breakfasts that they provided (prepared by Kate and served by Laszlo) were superb. The rear of the property also contributes to the enjoyment. Multilevel decks with tables, chairs and umbrellas allow guests to relax while looking at gardens and a wide expanse of neatly trimmed green lawn. Overall this was a high quality visit and one that we will remember as a highlight of our visit to Nova Scotia.

Truly amazing place! The moment you drive down driveway, your in heaven. Kate greeted us with a smile, followed quickly by wishing us Happy 10th Anniversary! We were blown away by our room. The whole place has the wow factor. The gardens are amazing.
We stayed 3 nights and wanted more. On an evening went down to the decking. Had a red wine and cheese board - it was amazing! It helped that the weather was perfect.
If your going to Annapolis Royal, you MUST stay here! Fantastic value in a perfect location.
Can't wait to visit again!!

The Queen Anne Inn is a remarkable property. Fantastically huge and comfortable rooms. Lazlo made us very welcome and gave us great tips for things to see and places to eat. The best advice was to walk out the path in the back garden and walk along the nature path around the water impoundment. Saw and heard more birds than I had ever experienced in one place.

My sons and I just returned from Nova Scotia and while there we stayed two nights at the Queen Anne Inn. We stayed in the back "cottage" part of the inn, which for a party of four was great with two separate bedrooms and two baths. The inn is currently run by a young couple, Lazlo and Kimberly, and they were most helpful in suggesting restaurants and nearby sites. Also they would do almost anything we asked, including helping with laundry! Breakfast was just fine, not the best I have had at an Inn, but very good. I believe dinners were served by the previous owners, but this is no longer the case under the current ownership. However, numerous dinning choices are within a 7 minute walk of the inn. Indeed, very easy to walk down to the Fort Anne and downtown area of the town from this inn. I highly recommend Queen Anne Inn for anyone staying in Annapolis Royal.

Room Tip: For more than two people, I suggest one of the cottages in back of the main house.
