A really first class B&B .A great room at a modest price in a Victorian mansion.
Beautifully furnished, clean, quiet, all the amenities in a magnificent town. Breakfast was delicious.
The owner Jim was helpful from check in to check out. Highly recommend this place, don't miss the grave yard tour in the village. It was a tremendous stay and great value!

Upon arrival at Bread and Roses, we were welcomed warmly and given many resources to make our stay in Annapolis Royal fun!
The lady who ran the B & B suggested restaurants and activities, all that turned out to be great!
We had room 6, which was on the top floor with two double beds. It was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated with elegant head boards and antique chairs.
The location was very convinient, being one block from the main road which was littered with trendy restaurants and cute stores.
In the morning, we headed downstairs to the grand dining room for breakfast. We had a buffet of fruit and biscuits, and then got served a hot breakfast of bacon, pancakes and coffee or tea. It was delicious!!
In the end, this is a great B&B that has a really great vibe.

The Bread and Roses stands as a highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. We stayed two nights. The ambience of the place was historic and charming, even for us early 30-somethings. Jim and Gaya were warm and excellent hosts. They gave great advice on things to see and do in town, and pleasant evening conversation in the parlour. The breakfasts were scrumptious. We cannot say enough good things.

My husband and I stayed at the Bread and Roses B&B on August 10th and 11th, 2009. Our room (Room 7) was a 3rd floor corner room, with 2 large windows, overlooking the parking lot and backyard (beautiful yard). While the Annapolis Royal Legion is directly behind the property, we were not disturbed by any noise. The room was beautifully furnished with antiques and while small, there was enough space to move around. The bathroom was fairly roomy and had a large window. The huge sink was unique but in an awkward place. The queen size bed was made-up with lovely linens and was very comfortable. The room had air conditioning and a TV. Our room was very, very quiet and we were unable to hear the other quests. The dining room is pretty and inviting and the breakfast was delicious - consisting of fresh fruit, yogurt, scones, muffins, fresh jellies and jams, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. The coffee was plentiful and good. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9. The owners, Gaya and Jim Bickford were very approachable and accomodating to us, regarding our travel plans. We had to leave, by 6:45 am, to catch the Digby Ferry so thought we would miss breakfast. Gaya and Jim had the coffee on for us, as well as, fresh scones, muffins, fruit and yougurt. Jim was very helpful in suggesting points of interest and restaurants. Great stay in a very beautiful, restful place.

Liked the breakfast, the owners, had a large room on the 3rd floor which was also nice. With these old mansion's you have to be on the top floor or else you hear every foot print above you. I was surprised to hear the person below us snoring so loadly that I couldn't sleep. Not sure if I would stay there again.

We stayed in June 2009. It was an unexpectedly delightfu lexperience. We had a beautifully decorated queen room with 2 windows overlooking the property. There were high quality furnishings and linens. All tastfully decorated to suit the historic house. We were pleased with the warm and comfortable feel of the inn. After coming back from dinner one evening. I went wandering about the house in the hopes of finding a late evening cup of coffee. When I bumped into Jim- owner- he offered to make me a cup of tea. Not only did he kindly bring it up to our room, he added a plate of homemade cookies to accompany the tea pot. So wonderful a touch and a delightful part of this B&B stay. Morning breakfast was a similar treat. We are not generally into chatting with fellow guests however during breakfast at the Bread and Roses, we found an enjoyable surprise. Good food in the pleasant company of fellow visitors.
This is a high quality historic inn experience. The town is quaint. We ate at the Cafe Compose and enjoyed a gourmet meal overlooking the water
We highly recommend the Bread and Roses for a unique relaxing experience.
