“Warm, friendly and hospitable”
Reviewed 6 November 2009

Ann and Alex were superb and welcoming hosts and made us feel completely at home in their well-kept B&B. We stayed one night at the end of October before heading off on the Cabot Trail and as it was slightly out of season and there was no one else staying that night, Ann and Alex gave us the pick of the rooms for the price of the slightly cheaper room we had originally booked.

The rooms were all decorated, maintained and kept to a very high standard and the whirlpool bath was a real feature in our shining white ensuite bathroom. Ann and Alex offered us tea and home-made banana bread, bubbly conversation and restaurant tips. They even had the menus to hand! The breakfast the next day was a real treat and they certainly pull out all the stops for their guests. They made us porridge, french toast, eggs and ham; fresh fruit by the bucket load; coffee and cheer! It was an absolute delight. Even a jar of Marmite for those that like it on their toast.

Anne and Alex offer a warm, friendly and personal attention to everyone of their guests. Their place is clean and beautifully decorated. Their breakfast is excellent... Home made cookies were a part of our day, as Anne made sure to add confort to our day trip as we discovered and enjoyed the beauty of Cape Breton.
We loved our stay with them.. This was the best attention we have received in a B & B.

If what you're looking for is a B&B with beautiful rooms, impeccable bathrooms, breakfasts that would make my mother blush and 2 of the kindest people Cape Breton has to offer; stop looking, you found it.
I came acroos the B&B on a general search of the net while planning our trip around the maritime provinces. They were between the Louisboug Fort and the Cabot Trail and seemed like a good place to stop. They were also close to the casino and walking distance from the largest free-standing fiddle!
Upon our arrival we were immediately welcomed by our hostess, Ann, and made to feel right at home. The room we stayed in (the Pearl Room) was beautiful! The en-suite bathroom was newly renovated and impeccable. Alex, our host was incredibly helpful in explaining what the area had to offer for entertainement and restaurants, and his sense of humor kept us laughing.
The lounge area had a laptop and internet available for the guests and the menus of all the surrounding restaurants, but ask Alex, he'll tell you where to go!
Breakfast the next morning included eggs (any way you want them), French Toast (on regular or raisin), bacon, ham, fruit, juices, home-made jam, maple syrup, freshly whipped cream...must I go on?
We usually stay in B&B's on our travels and it's the little things that make big differences: our hosts gave us cookies and coffee on our arrival; refered us to the perfect restaurant; stayed up late with us to help us book a place to stay for the next night, and sent us off with freshly made banana bread for the next leg of our travels. They made us feel like family.
My only disappointement; not being able to stay longer.
