“New, clean and good value but.....”

Hilton Gold members be prepared to be ignored and get NOTHING not even a welcome smile (OK free WIFI but everybody gets it now). But that is not why we were there so I will say it is a great new Hampton Inn with super nice furnishing and nice wood floor theme. It is in the middle of nowhere in the city but worth the effort to find it. Hampton Inn franchisee (DJ something) - How about a sign or two somewhere in the City to help find it !!! It is located in the middle of Membertou development which is really really nice and well done. Hotel is new and worth the effort to find and to stay. Free breakfast was standard. Only drawback is usual problem as most hotels in Sydney - drunk bikers and Casino patrons returning to their rooms at 2 AM making much too much noise - not the hotels fault. Will be back.

Room Tip: Request top floor on weekends to avoid screaming kids (a bit of prayer wont hurt)

Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Sydney over the weekend of Aug 1-2, 2014. We were with many other soccer parents for a tournament in Sydney. The Hampton Inn appears at first to be more expensive than our stay last year at another hotel in Sydney. But with free breakfast, and all the other amenities, this is the better value. The rooms are great. No mini fridge here, but a larger version instead, with a kitchen counter with sink and microwave, etc.
The hotel has the standard pool, and a great waterslide. But the Hampton gets high marks for their water slide not interfering with those already in the pool. Their slide ends on a long flat slide, as opposed to having kids fly into the pool where one has to always be cautious of getting hit by someone from the slide.
Another great feature of this hotel is what I called their "Great Room" or "common room, just off from the lobby. This area has nice cushion chairs, and straight back chairs and tables, and one very long main table. This is the area where everyone hung out in the evening. Right or wrong, this is where the parents socialize with the drinks we brought along for the trip. Having this type of area is actually a brilliant idea by the Hampton Inn. It centralized the noise to this area, which unfortunately the front desk staff had to endure. But if not for this area, the socializing would have been in one or two rooms, thus running the risk of disturbing other guests.
As mentioned, breakfast included which includes numerous items, from making your own waffle, eggs, cereals, yogurts, breads, etc.
We have very high regards for the staff. They all did a great job. The hotel was booked solid, with wedding guest, regular guest, and of course soccer teams. There were at least four soccer teams staying at the hotel, which means at least 48 kids all hyped up and full of energy. Unfortunately, I am sure the noise level was much higher than the staff would like. But the staff showed a level of professionalism and tolerance that was commendable. We will be back.

The hotel is relatively new. The room was clean and large enough for the three of us. The only negative thing about this hotel is it's location. it is isolated away from the rest of Sydney meaning you have to drive everywhere. It makes a good spot if you are using it as a home base while touring the area.

This hotel is only about two years old. Therefore the hotel is fairly new and the the rooms are very modern. They have a pool and fitness room which I haven't tried. I didn't find anything special regarding the breakfast but it was free. My only negative about this hotel is that while taking a shower the water would be warm and then turn cold and back warm. I would have also preferred if this hotel was near the waterfront or downtown it's kind of out-of-the-way.

My family and I have stayed at a lot of Hamptons and I must say this is one of the best. We were greeted warmly at the reception desk and given complimentary snacks because of our Hilton Hhonors level. The lobby is nicely decorated with a fireplace and a very big breakfast/lounge area. Our room was very big - it had a king bed and a sofa but still had lots of space - even with the sofa bed pulled out. We were able to change currency from U.S. dollars to Canadian at the front desk which was a nice time saver. There is a Walmart, Sobey's and lots of fast food options just around the corner and down the street (within 5 minutes) and a Tim's just a stone's throw away. The hotel itself is very clean and seems brand new even though I believe it is about 2 years old. The breakfast seemed a step up from the normal Hampton breakfast. It was very fresh with a very attentive staff and a selection that seemed a little bigger than other Hamptons. There is also a pool (rather small) but the pool area also has a water slide. This was a nice treat since this isn't common in the States. The slide was a bit slow and it doesn't sling you joyfully into the pool like at the Moncton Hampton (which is an awesome Hampton) but instead has it's own reception/landing area. We stayed here before and after taking the ferry to/from Newfoundland. The ferry terminal is roughly 20 minutes away and very easy to get to. I wish we had more Hamptons like this in the U.S.

Beautiful hotel. We enjoyed our stay, but found it to be a bit costly. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Check in was quick. We weren't thrilled with the breakfast. There were hot and cold items, but we just didn't find it overly great. It was included in the cost.

Stayed in this hotel last week. Very nice place to stay, pretty quiet and very clean. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly both on check in and out. The free breakfast isn't the best, but I haven't had a free one at a hotel that was good.
