Beautiful location and close to a small down with lots of great restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly. Great discount on golf after 2:00 or 3:00 pm. Nice pool and lounge area above pool. Outside bar would have been nice.

Room Tip: Nice walking trail around hotel.

I just recently got married near Yarmouth, NS and we were supposed to have our honeymoon at a place that my wife had frequented as a kid....The Mountain Gap Inn. We were supposed to have 5 cabins and a few rooms there immediately after the wedding, but the Mountain Gap decided to call us 2 days prior and tell us that all of our reservations are cancelled because they are going out of business. So after some nice, therapeutic screaming and shouting through the phone, they mentioned that they might be able to transfer our reservation to The Digby Pines....and THANK GOD that they did. We ended up having a sweet 2-room cabin with an ocean view that was pretty far away from everyone else in the main lodge. We were allowed to bring our dog and we also received a complimentary breakfast every morning....not your typical "Complimentary Breakfast" that were are all familiar with, but a scratch-made buffet of all the best breakfast foods (eggs benny every morning baby!). They also have an amazing pool and just the grounds themselves are amazing! The trees here are massive and the must have a full-fledged landscaping crew because the entire grounds are very clean and basically weed-free. This place is one of the original CP Rail hotels and there really aren't many of these left nowadays, so I recommend anyone in the area to check it out. Thanks again Digby Pines for saving (and vastly improving!) my Honeymoon! I'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: Cabin 17...all the way at the end

Very much in the style of the grand CP hotels. The main hotel rooms are a little on the small side compared to modern hotels of concrete and glass. What this hotel has is elegance in spades. The staircase (which is good exercise to the 3rd floor, the top level) sweeps in a circular spiral and at one landing opens to a Juliette balcony. You can easily imagine the sweep of grand ball gowns and posing for a photograph just in front of it. Amazing service and very comfortable bed. The restaurant was a bit pricy but worth the money for an indulgence. A lovely stay.

Digby Pines resort is one of those places that just needs to be where it is. Overlooking the old English town of Digby and the bay, it remains one of the treasures of Nova Scotia. Our room was spacious, meticulously clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Amenities abound but with an old world charm. Some might find the hotel a bit dated but that is what is should be as it is charming as it is. The staff are professional and friendly. Breakfast is included in the room rate and ranks as one of the best we had in our stay in Nova Scotia. Dinners were excellent as well. There is a really nice pool overlooking the Bay and ample grounds for walks. The Pines is also noted for a great gold course. The seafood served by the way is all local. Digby is famous for its scallops and the local lobsters are legendary.

Room Tip: Rooms to the back of the hotel have wonderful view of bay. Cabins also available for families. Those with families seemed to have enjoyed having a place for the kids to "unwind."
