“So clean, spacious and convenient”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

We finished our two and a half week East Coast vacation in Digby, Nova Scotia. What wonderful accomodations to finish our trip. For two nights, we stayed in Suite 10 which is located, along with the other suites, behind the B&B. We loved it. I like the location, as the suites are not directly on the main road but tucked away, but they still have easy access to the city centre. The suite provided ample space for my husband, me and our two children. After so long on the road together it was nice not to feel on top of each other. The room we had had two queen beds, a dining area, kitchenette, a good size bathroom and plenty of space to spare. Breakfast food was waiting for us (muffins, bread, peanut butter, jam, butter, yogurt, juice boxes, etc.), which is perfect for early mornings on the road. I would, without hesitation, stay here again if in Digby.

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are really comfortable and spotless. The breakfast was delicious and the owners very helpful and friendly.it is across the street from the harbour with a wonderful verandah in front...with a beautiful ocean view. Restaurants are walking distance.

We booked 3 nights at this b&b but ended up staying 4 because of a storm. There was also a power failure in a large part of nova scotia during our stay. Heather and Wayne were really trying to make our time as comfortable as possible and gave us updates about the situation all the time. The rooms have beautiful furniture, there is free parking, they have a beautiful backyard to relax and read and the restaurants at the shoreline are in walking distance ( digby is pretty small =)). The breakfast is great and there is always somebody around to have a nice chat.
Thank you for having us!

Brier Island has a few B&B's and we were fortunate to find this little gem before our trip - mostly due to the favorable feedback from previous travelers. I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the area and the friendliness of the owners made it perfect. The suite was large and spacious with all of the amenities we were looking for, kitchen, WiFi, LCD TV, comfy warm bed and table and chairs to set up our maps and books of the area. The price was perfect and the location was just across from the Bay of Fundy... waking up and looking out on the water was a real treat!

Room Tip: I'd suggest a Suite... some of the rooms are upstairs, so if you have heavy suitcases - be prepa...

We stayed here 4 nights while exploring Digby Neck and doing some whale watching. It was the perfect location (about an hour away, including ferries) from Brier Island. We stayed in the extra rooms behind the main building (8 "hotel" style rooms). The room was large and clean for our family of four. It had everything we needed to recover from our long days out exploring the area.

Best of all, Heather was very accommodating our entire time there. We had a late (late!) arrival time that was not an issue. We then needed Heather to retrieve our lost luggage once it arrived. And she was always making sure we had everything we needed for breakfast. She even took an extra car seat we had to donate to a local charity once ours arrived from our airline. Service here was top-notch for a Bed & Breakfast.

We visited with Heather Sep 23, 2013. We were the only guests when we arrived. As soon as you walked in the door you could smell the lemony clean! The whole house was spotless! We checked in. (And got a free upgrade to a queen bed at the front of the house. The room was lovely. Small bathroom with a shower and toilet. The sink was located in the bedroom area. The 2 dormer windows overlooked the bay and the boardwalk and we could watch the tide coming in and going out. It was drizzling when we got up in the morning so the room wasn't very bright, but I'm sure it would be really cozy on a clear day with the sunshine pouring in.)

She gave us a recommendation on where to go for supper. It was within walking distance so we just walked over to the restaurant. When we got back Heather asked us what time we needed breakfast in the morning. We told her we had to have an early night because we wanted to make it up to Hall's Harbour for low tide. Heather helped us figure out what time we had to leave (I think it was about 8am) and we bid her a good night.

In the morning there was another guest just finishing his breakfast. When he was gone Heather asked how our night was and asked us what we'd like for breakfast. I ordered French Toast & bacon and Stacey had eggs, ham & toast. We had a really good chat with Heather about the history of the house and the ups and downs of running a B & B in today's economy. We had a really comfortable chat with her.

Heather told us during the course of our conversation that she gets a lot of repeat business customers who make Harmony B & B and Suites their home away from home! Heather said she thinks of them as family!

Other than the main house B & B, there is Harmony Suites at the back of the property (an additional 6 units). There is plenty of on-site parking, a nice small garden and a newer wood deck in the back yard.

There is a comprehensive binder on the property and the area.

The house was built in around 1871 and has been in the family since 1925.

It may not have the best curb appeal, but I was totally impressed with the property.

Room Tip: The second floor rooms at the front of the house overlook the Bay of Fundy. And are bright and sunny...

Harmony is on the boardwalk, meaning close to the pier, shops and restaurants. The rooms in the main house are quite small, but clean and tidy. Sink is in the room with a small standup shower and toilet in the bathroom. Breakfast was good, management and staff were very friendly. All in all a reasonable choice but as far as B&B's go I would say very average. No kettle, but a hair dryer, glasses and ice bucket, cable tv and good WiFi.
