“See why Canada is called a country of immigrants”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Pier 21 seemed smaller this second time I visited (I first visited the museum a decade ago). It is a great museum to learn about the immigration history of Canada and to see why Canada is a country of immigrants. It brings you back to the time when ships were the conduit for immigration from Europe to America. I only wish that the museum had more exhibits and would explore the rich history of Halifax's century long role as Canada's front door.

“History buff”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

While I am not Canadian, I enjoy learning about immigrants and their experience coming to North America. The exhibit was smaller than I expected, although nicely done. There was a new film about recent immigration experience and why people came to Canada. Very interesting.

“What an experience.”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

A must see for anyone who has/had family who entered Canada through the port of Halifax. If you have any documents from that time bring them with you. They love being able to photo copy and file old documents. If you identify the ship that your family came over on they will provide you with a picture of that ship and any other documents/info that has been filed under that ships voyages. Really really neat stuff.

Good exhibits. Touching movie that is a must see. Artifacts are on display. Good view of the harbor from the glassed front of the building.
