Walking into our room, I felt like we came to grandma's house. It felt cozy but all a little bit old and dowry. The first room we were given had such a small window that we thought we were in prison. So we asked to switch rooms, finally getting a corner room where one window faced the waterfront while the other - a roof! Later we found out that supposedly, the original structure was built as a casino hotel, the casino being right next door, which suddenly gave sense to the room/hotel design.
The ground floor entrance and restaurant /cafe have been newly renovated, and look good, giving it a more modern feel. I wish the rooms were spruced up as well.
The lounge on the 6th floor is very basic. The breakfast selection wasn't entirely bad, but the design again is so outdated.
The highlight for me was the gym. They had fantastic equipment and a large space dedicated to your health. Well done on that.
Thankfully the hotel is also very well located - loved walking around Halifax which conveniently unravels right outside the hotel.More
