I stayed at the hotel for one night. The only "good" thing was the bed was very comfortable. I was not expecting to pay for parking my vehicle after spending the rather large fee for the room. Parking should definately be included especially considering the parkade (very small parking stalls and low ceilings.) The restaurant looks very nice, but try to get a bun or some crackers with your soup...not happening!...also very pricey! In my room, I was expecting the TV to at least come in clearly, again...no. I would not recommend this hotel. I stayed at a different hotel the next night for half the price and could not believe the difference...

We arrived rather late to the hotel and needed to check in, park the car and get something to eat. The staff could not have been more helpful! Our van was too big to park in the underground parking ($20/ day), so the girl at the front desk gave us all the information on street parking while the bellman provided maps and suggestions for dinner. Our room was spacious and clean and had a view down Robie Street. The hotel is located directly across from the Halifax Common and near the Citadel. It's a bit of a walk to get to the waterfront, but it beats trying to find a place to park downtown. An added bonus for the kids - the bellmen wear traditional Scottish kilts. Brave!

Room Tip: The higher floors have better views and less road noise.

We enjoyed our stay here (2 nights). While it is about a 15 minute stroll to downtown, we enjoyed the walk after a night out. The staff were extremely hospitable and the restaurant surprisingly good. Nice pool. Needs a little modernizing (the air conditioner in our room was noisy) but the desk clerk thought that was in the works. Reasonable rates for a stay in Halifax. Would use again.

- very friendly staff
- thermostat in room did not work well... options seemed to be 15 or 25 degrees, the temperature didn't regulate anywhere in between, hot/frozen all night long = no sleep
- nice food in restaurant, but portions ridiculously small (and I'm not a big eater!!), ordered a salad and I got a plate with a handful of lettuce leaves (and blueberries etc) = still starving after dinner after spending $20, ended up walking to the grocery store

I stayed at the Atlantica Hotel during a short stay in Halifax for the preparation of the 2014 IFDS Disabled Sailing World Championships.Very well situated but a bit far from the water front. The room on the 15th floor was large very clean and comfortable with a king size bed. Very friendly stuff, but very few choices for in room dining. Buffet breakfast needs improvement .

We stayed at the Atlantica Hotel while in Halifax to attend the 7th annual Beatle Fest. It was a perfect spot as in walking distance to the venue. The room was on the 14th floor with a king bed. The room was large and very clean and had a fridge in it. We had breakfast included with our room rate and we ate at the buffet each morning. Food selection was very good, lots to choose from. Parking was included but the only drawback is the underground parking garage. Not made for larger vehicles at all and driving with a small car, some corners are tight to maneuver around. Very cramped under there! Other than the parking garage, the hotel was great!

I stayed here once before and wasn't really impressed.
However, when we started planning arrangements for accomodations for our wedding, we decided on this hotel for 2 reasons. First, it was cheaper than most hotels in the area. Second, it was 5 minutes up the road from our wedding venue.
We styaed here Saturday, September 14th.
They let us check in at 11 am, which was awesome because we needed a bit of time to get ready (4 bridesmaids and a bride take some time!)
We booked 2 rooms that were joining, and most of our guests ended up on the same floor as us as well. Our guests also paid a slightly lower rate when they mentioned they were there witha wedding party.
As soon as the bridal party and I got to the room in the morning, I called the front desk and asked for 6 wine glasses and within 3 minutes they arrived at my door on a tray. All night we kept forgetting room keys, locking ourselves out of rooms, etc. and the hotel staff was AMAZING with handling all of the chaos we must have caused with calling them every 10 minutes from room keys, etc. They totally changed my opinion of this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. They also let us park one of our vehicles in front of the main doors as it would not fit in the underground parking. We had to pay of course, but it was nice they let us park in the front.
Overall we were both very happy with the staff, the rooms, and the location.

Thank you Atlantica, for giving us a positive experience for our wedding accomodations. Your staff made our lives very easy on a very hectic day.
