We had a older room. It was very dusty.
The room was very big. The toilet would run and the bathtub would fill as you were taking a shower.
House Keeping started to Clean very early and so there went our day to sleep in. They were slamming doors and dropping there cleaning supplies outside our door.
It took us a little bit to check in and check out. But the staff was friendly at the front desk.

The old fashioned white building looks like a nice country inn and not the usual comfort inn style. We really loved the ambiance. There were chairs on the porch which was a nice place to sit and enjoy coffee (available all day). Breakfast was delicious and ample with eggs, sausage, toast, boiled eggs, cereal, Quaker oatmeal packets, fruit, yogurt, apple sauce AND a waffle maker with original and blueberry batters. The lady on duty in the breakfast room was very friendly. The pool was a decent size. The fitness centre was small but fine. It had free weights which was our preference. Location was more Bedford than Halifax but we liked being on the outskirts. Free parking on site.

Room Tip: Room 330 was at the top floor near the back of the hotel which gave a beautiful view of the Bedford...

Had a difficult time finding this hotel because of first the Canadian road and route designations. Missed the turn on Rt. 102 because it indicated Exit 5, when we were looking for Exit 3. Passing exit 5, put us on Rt. 118 because Rt. 102 actually turned off on its own Exit 5. We had to get off Rt. 102’s Exit 5 to reach 102’s Exit 3. (Go figure.)

After we missed the exit, we continued about 8 miles until we could make a U-turn and go back to catch Rt. 102. That worked, but when we came to Exit 5A, we passed it looking for Exit 5B to find Rt. 102 Exit 3. There is no Exit 5B. So we proceeded back up Rt. 102 to the airport exit where we could again go east on 102, looking for the exit. This time we found it on one of the 6-8 overhead route markers that indicated Rt. 102 exited on its own Exit 3. Looking for Exit 3, we passed exit 4, A,B, and C, which appeared to be several times.

The second problem was that the directions on the Comfort Inn confirmation were incorrect. It directed us to make a right at the second set of lights after exiting at Exit 3. The first red light off the exit came to a T-road. Which way? We turned left for about three miles when we realized, it was the wrong way. We turned around and eventually found the hotel. Who writes this stuff—and who checks it?

The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful, but what I found was not what I saw in the picture on their website, which appears spacious and well set back from the road. It is narrow and it seems the only view of the water (over the railroad tracks) is from the lobby and the breakfast room. When I saw a lot of kids (a lot of kids) and that our room was just across the hall from the pool, I asked to be moved to a room farther from the pool. The desk clerk told me that the hotel was full, and there were no more rooms available.

The room was clean and spacious, but the whirlpool was not in the bathroom, it was in the middle of the living room area. The lighting was poor and the windows had no sheers, just the black-out curtains.

The Internet was OK, but kept going out on me. I have found that most hotels overstate their Internet access. Free wifi does not necessarily mean good wifi.

Having said all that, the room was basically good, and the service was attentive. After all the kids left, it was quite pleasant. Would I stay here again? Maybe.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, do not stay in room 102.

This is my second stay at this hotel. Both times we enjoyed the hotel, the breakfast, the location which made travel to all the areas of Nova Scotia that we wanted to see. Easy to get to, easy access to the major highways in the province and about 12 minutes to the Halifax waterfront.

We were 3 couples staying for one night before we left for PEI. Very nice hotel. Clean, great continental breakfast compared to others we had while on vacation. When you drove up it didn't even look like a hotel but a bed and breakfast. The view out of some of the rooms was very pretty. Our room was a two room, two bed suite. We were upgraded to this as our original room wasn't ready. Staff were very friendly. Would not hesitate to stay here again or to tell friends about it. A bus ran right by to take us downtown to the wharf to many eating places. That way we didn't have to get back on the motorcycles and try to find a parking place.

I had the pleasure of staying at this Hotel last week. I was very pleased with the accommodations as well as the staff. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful and had lots of choices. The wireless had good download speeds. The staff were very pleasant and presented an "At your service attitude". The Hotel is close to the Bayer's Lake shopping district and not too far from the downtown core.

Room Tip: This was the first time I ever stayed at this Hotel we had a King size room and it was very spacious...
