where do you start on a review like this!!??? this place was a spectacular surprise!!! i have stayed at comfort inns and sometimes been satisfied. this hotel was immaculate, wonderfully situated across form the bedford basin (where in WWII my father, 15 at war's onset, along with his best pal, caught their 'park ships' in convoy on their way to do their part during the 'Battle of the Atlantic', during 1939 through 1945.) anyway, a beautiful setting, a beautiful 'outback' with rustic, rocky walkways. the hotel is pet friendly, the breakfast was hot, diverse - pancakes, bacon, sausages, fruit, cereals, toast, eggs, muffins... you name it! the staff!!?? from managers to hallway workers, these people were freckle faced, happy, articulate, helpful, cheerful and could not do enough for you. the rooms were spotless, the entire experience was a highlight of our maritime trek. the person running this ship understands friendly service and what it does for the well being of the traveller. all the people at this wonderful hotel understand this. this was bar none, the best hotel i have stayed at in years!!! i had to keep reminding myself that i was on the bedford highway, in a comfort inn and not staying at the 5 star hilton on the big avenue somewhere - although the down home friendliness was a tip off of course. this maritime gem deserves ten stars. i can't say enough about the people - all of whom gave you a very pleasant chat whenever they saw you, and i can't say enough about the bang for the buck. best hotel in years!!! i challenge the traveller to beat this place. you will not go wrong staying here. our visit here added a wonderful, much needed infusion of energy and relaxation to our hectic but rewarding holiday. you owe it to yourself to stay at the comfort inn, halifax if you are anywhere near the place when travelling in eastern Canada.

Room Tip: perhaps a room toward the rear of the hotel will afford you a quick merge onto the rocky walkway out the back of the hotel... but then there is the view of the bedford bason at the front of the place... in short? you can't go wrong here.

This was the last hotel we stayed in as we flew out of Halifax Airport two days later. The place was clean, quiet and the staff very friendly. A great hot breakfast, like I said the best on the whole trip and they had a coffee maker that worked, a fridge and comfortable chairs. I would recommend this to anyone.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn for 4 nights in late August. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and the people are very friendly and helpful. They offer free breakfast but we found it a bit too early to make it to most days (breafast is offered between 6:30 and 9:30 am. The one drawback to this hotel is the location. There is very little around and to get anywhere you need to walk on the highway with no sidewalks. The bus does not run very frequently and a taxi ride into the city is about $25-30 each way.

We had a older room. It was very dusty.
The room was very big. The toilet would run and the bathtub would fill as you were taking a shower.
House Keeping started to Clean very early and so there went our day to sleep in. They were slamming doors and dropping there cleaning supplies outside our door.
It took us a little bit to check in and check out. But the staff was friendly at the front desk.

The old fashioned white building looks like a nice country inn and not the usual comfort inn style. We really loved the ambiance. There were chairs on the porch which was a nice place to sit and enjoy coffee (available all day). Breakfast was delicious and ample with eggs, sausage, toast, boiled eggs, cereal, Quaker oatmeal packets, fruit, yogurt, apple sauce AND a waffle maker with original and blueberry batters. The lady on duty in the breakfast room was very friendly. The pool was a decent size. The fitness centre was small but fine. It had free weights which was our preference. Location was more Bedford than Halifax but we liked being on the outskirts. Free parking on site.

Room Tip: Room 330 was at the top floor near the back of the hotel which gave a beautiful view of the Bedford basin.
