“Lovely neighbourhood restaurant”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

We have been to this lovely spot a few times in the past several months. It is such a great place. The food is really fantastic. On our most recent visit we took my mom for dinner before heading to see a play at Neptune. It was a perfect choice. We shared the warm brie with roasted garlic, it was divine. My mom and I shared a crepe Cordon Bleu, it was so delicious. It was served with a beautiful fresh salad. One of the things about this restaurant is the really nice atmosphere, it is really relaxed and unpretentious. Lots of candles, nice music. Our server Angela was terrific. She remembered us from previous visits. If you are looking for a great restaurant with fantastic food and wonderful service, Tess has it all.

“Great spot for brunch”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Tess offers a welcoming, popular spot for brunch on the weekend. In addition to the regular brunch offerings there is always a menu of special offerings. Five of us went today. Four of us had the Breakfast torte which was amazing. Lots of local bacon, sausage, eggs and cheese in lovely light layers. A nice green salad with fresh berries and a delicious wedge of potato cake.

“Tasty Seafood Cakes and Crepes!”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

We stopped in here for supper late one night, about an hour before closing... and still the food was fresh and delicious and the service fantastic. We had seafood cakes with salad followed by the dessert trio (crepes and ice cream). You can tell that this is a restaurant managed and staffed by people who take pride in their work. The whole menu looked interesting and delicious, the wine menu was great, food was very good, made from quality ingredients and the service was great too--even though we were those people who wandered in just as they're starting to prepare for closing! If in Halifax again I will definitely return to try out the rest of the menu!

“Great food in an unexpected local”
Reviewed 31 August 2013 via mobile

Parking can be a challenge but once there it is an oasis of fresh food and relaxation. The melon salad was fresh and presentation was exceptional. We loved the old school baked Brie and will be returning to have it again. The staff is adorable and accommodating . This is a little gem.
