“Chef's Specials - Unique Tasting and Authentic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2014

The menu is great, but the "specials written and unspoken" are our recommendations.
Pork and Vermicelli noodles is a dish you will not forget - unique flavours; and then the northern Chinese vegetable dish, you will wish to eat and eat and eat. Amongst the fried rice dishes, ask for the "Boss's Rice" ... insiders know this is unforgettable.
This restaurant is frequented in late afternoon by Chinese students away from home, seeking to reconnect with home. Our advice go with what these "locals know" to be the best ... not often on the menu, but available if you ask. Enjoy!

“Fresh & Hot, but salty”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2013

Having found that my favorite Asian restaurant in town, Koo E Nami (Korean) closed on April 30th (2013), I gave New Asia a try.

I ordered Ma Po Tofu (spicy pork and tofu in a brown sauce). It was very fresh, and hot, but swimming in orange oil (grease), like a double peperoni pizza. It was also quite salty. On an up note, the place is very clean, management is very pleasant, wifi is good, and prices are reasonable. One other reviewer mentioned "too salty", and although I only tried one dish, I would echo that.

“Ginger Beef Heaven...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2013

My wife and I, along with a couple of friends decided to check this place out based on a recommendation.
We went on a Sunday wanting to try the Dim Sum. We ordered a few different dim sum dishes but when I found out they had Ginger Beef,,, I had to try it. It was delicious and we will return for another sampling. We also had they house special (can't remember the name) fried rice with everything but the kitchen sink in it. Also delicious.
It's fairly large on the inside, bright and clean. Everyone was eager to make sure we were happy with their offerings. We were...

“A diamond in the rough!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2012

Came across this restaurant by accident. Ordered the pan fried dumplings, chicken fried rice and the chow mein. The only restaurant in Halifax that can make peanut butter sauce for the dumplings. The only negative thing is that they use too much salt.

“Nice, clean place with great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. Had the ginger chicken which was delicious and the plum sauce had a slightly different flavor, maybe ginger, but very good. For two of us the bill was less than $30. Went around 6pm and it was quiet, got a great seat in the window. Would go back for sure.
